Chapter 12 ~ Leaving

3rd Person POV

It's been weeks since since that dream, but right now, that's the only thing Aphmau could think about. Why was this dream haunting her? Why is she so... Afraid of this dream?

"Hey Aphmau!" Zoey snapped her out of her thoughts.

"Oh, hey Zoey..!" Aphmau said looking down.

"Is something the matter, Aphmau?" Zoey asked.

"Nothing... It's nothing.. Don't worry about it!" Aphmau forced a smile.

"You've been saying that since you were late for the celebration! Aphmau, I know something is wrong!" Zoey said.

Aphmau sighs "Zoey, it's really uncomfortable to talk about right now..."

"Fine, I'll leave you be... But you will tell me eventually, understand?" Zoey ordered.

"Yes mam'" Aphmau gave in, bowing her head.

"Good girl! Now, to what I wanted to say!" Zoey brushed it off like nothing happened. "Since the Brian's birthday is coming up, in a few weeks, I wanted to gather his favorite food! Which would probably take a few days to find--" Before she could continue Aphmau cut her off...

"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! A few days?! What is it he likes?" 

"It's moose! I remember, before we married, him and I were two peas in a pod! We would play games with each other, 'play-hunt' together... Well, we would do everything together! Usually when his mother called him in for dinner he would always grunt and walk in, head down, But when she said 'Brain! We got moose for dinner!' He would go ballistic! He would always run in, jump on the walls, howl and bark, howl and bark, all those wonderful things... And I will never forget that! But since we moved away from the place that was heavily populated with moose, he never had a taste of one... So! I want to change that!" She said jumping.

"Where were you two when you were little?" Aphmau asked.

"We were in Phoenix." When Zoey said those words it made Aphmau's heart skip a beat.

"That's why we were really good friends with your father!" Her last few words fading at the end.

"Oh..."

"So, since I trust you to do this for me I want you to journey out to find them!" She smiled.

"What?! Why me?!" Aphmau quickly perked her ears up.

"Not JUST you I'm letting Isabelle go with you! I know how close you two are so I trust her to take care of you!"

"Oh.. Great.. When do we leave?" Aphmau asked.

"Tomorrow if possible, if not then the next day! That's the limit. Who knows how long it will take to find them." Zoey said looking into the wilderness.

"Alright... I'm going to go out for a few minutes, I'll se you later!" Aphmau smiled.

"Okay see you then!" Aphmau walked into the place where she always goes to meet her friends.

3rd Person POV

"Garroth...!

"Garroth...!!

"GARROTH!!"

"AHH!! WHAT?!! I'M UP! I'M UP!" Garroth screamed.

"Shh... Keep it down we don't want to almost get caught like last time!" Garroth recognized the voice to be Laurance's. "We need to get Aaron now..."

It was on the verge of being morning, the sun was just barely  touching the earths surface. Garroth and Laurance snuck out to Aaron's den.

"Pss.... Aaron! Aaron!"

"Mmmm... What...?" Aaron's voice was a bit raspy.

"It's time!" Garroth wispered.

Aaron's eyes shot open and he jumped up. "We need to be careful this time we can't get to cocky like we did last time. We almost didn't see Aphmau that day!"

They snuck out of Aaron's den, two guards were walking around searching the surroundings.

"They don't like us leaving because they think we are 'planning' something like an attack, that's why there are so many guards." Aaron confirmed.

"I wish we knew that there we going to be a lot of them yesterday!" Laurance coughed.

"Look we're almost there!" Garroth pointed out.

"Perfect! Let's go!"

"What we do for our friend..."

Garte's POV

I saw them leave.... Ugh... They are useless to me! If they don't stay and work they are useless!

"Vine!" I howled

"Yessir?" He said bowing his head.

"I want you to follow the three who just left, tell me where they go everyday! I'm tired of them not doing what they're told and wasting time! I'm fed up with it!"

"Yessir! Uh... Who are the three?" He asked looking back at me.

"Garroth, Laurance, and Aaron! The three useless pups we found that day! And if they are leaving to plan anything stupid... Then we kill them UNDERSTAND?!" I yelled at the last part.

"Yessir!" He stood out with his chest out.

"No go!"

He ran off to find them.

Aphmau's POV

"And she said I'm leaving tomorrow!" I said, talking to Garroth, Aaron and Laurance.

"So you won't be here tomorrow?" Aaron asked.

"Sadly... No.. I won't " I said putting my head down.

"Well, I'm coming with you!"Aaron walked towards me.

"What?! Aaron you're crazy!" Garroth and Laurance said.

"A-Aaron...! You- You can't! My pack will hurt you or possibly kill you!" I said coming closer.

"Aph... I can't let you leave alone.." He said.

"But- But I won't be! I told you! I'll be with Isabelle!"

"She's right, Aaron, you shouldn't leave! Do you know what Garte would do to us if your gone for that long?" Garroth said stepping up.

"I know.. I just..." Aaron paused.

"Please Aaron I'll be fine! I promise!" I smiled at him, he smiled back, slightly.

"Fine..."

"Thank you.." I went up to him and hugged him.

"Hey! Where's ours?!" Laurance asked.

I rolled my eyes and got them all in a group hug. I broke free and said my goodbye's and left.

Now I got to prepare my long journey...

Hm... A different pack member? Well, That can't be good... I've got to go tell Garte before they see me!
