~Lestat's POV~

As I walked the streets in the dem light and the sound of mortals laughter and singing filled my ears. They were dancing, so happy, so alive. I heard the thoughts of some woman who were smitten but my physical appearance. I have a narrow nose, fingernails that are clear as glass, blonde curly hair, pale skin, thin lips, blazing blue eyes, and of course, fangs that pierce my bottom lip. If you are confused about the fangs part then allow me to explain, I am a vampire. My maker abandoned me as soon as I was fully turned I never hold anyone this not even Louis (a fledgling of mine that was created in 1791).

Then a wonderful smell caught my attention my head snapped in its direction in the distance, I saw a house the lights were out witch ment whom ever lived there was asleep I quickly ran their and jumped into an opened window. I looked around the room and saw that it was a baby's room, presumably a baby girl's room from the decorations and color of the room. It had pink wallpaper, a flower carpet, and teddy bears. Soon, a baby cry filled the room, I looked toward the baby's crib and walked over to it. My eyes soon fell upon a small child.

She was beautiful, even when she cried but it suddenly stopped when she saw me, she stared for a while then smiled as she extended her out to me in a manner of asking to be held. I, reluctantly, picked her up and held her close to me. My knees slightly bounced like most people do when they are comforting a baby. She grabbed my nose and tugged on it causing me to smiled, "hello young one my name is Lestat de Lioncourt' she smiled and wiggled around excitedly then clapped her hands "Lestat!" she exclaimed.

Wow, she speaks very clearly for a baby. I do have to say she is very smart wait till I tell Louis and Armand, they probably won't believe me but oh well. I leaned down to put her back in her crib but then she made a whining sound and clutched onto my jacket which meant she was about to cry. I let go of her when she was firmly placed in her crib, then she started crying. 'Oh no, please, don't cry beautiful, please don't cry, cherie' when I said this to her, she stopped but still looked very sad.

I quickly kissed her head to comfort her "don't ever forget me, little one" she nodded slowly. Smart, beautiful, and intelligent. She most definitely will grow up to be somebody important, but I wanted to make sure that she had a guardian and who better than me? I will watch and protect her, she might need me some day. As I got ready to leave, she spoke once more "bye bye Lestat" she said, how intriguing... there must be more about her... Secretly, I wanted to be around her because she wasn't like most children. I kissed her forehead again then smiled "I'll see you again, little one" I told her then put a necklace with a red pendant around her neck and left her home and sped off to mine.

Louis saw me enter the house and stood up. "Lestat where have you been?" he saw my expression that played on my face which was full of curiosity and admiration. "What happened?" he asked, "I met someone Louis" I said almost smiling at the thought of my little beauty "who?" he urged "I do not know her name but...a child..." his eyes widened.

"You're not changing, her remember what happen with Clau-" I stopped him anger quickly filled me. "Don't say her name!" Louis put his hands up and stepped back "sorry" he whispered. "And I'm not changing her" he looked at me, confusion written all over his face "what do you intend on doing?" He asked cautiously. "You might want to sit down for this Louis" we sat on the couch.

~After a while of explaining~

Louis was staring at me then he started to smile "she sure does sound like...something..." he rose up from the couch and I stood up too. "Louis, she is! She is the most absolute beautiful child I have ever seen, and such a fast learner. More advanced than other children, I want to learn more about her" I said smiling. "I will show her to you in time and hopefully, she will still wear the necklace I gave her that way it will be easy to recognise her" he looked at me for a long time his eyes filled with loneliness, want, need, and sadness. I watched as blood tears formed in his eyes, they threatened to spill over.

"Louis, are you alright?" I asked worried for my fledgling. "Y-yes, its just the way you speak of her reminds me of my c-child" I nodded Louis had lost his wife and child when she was giving birth it was so strong that it killed her too, I hated seeing him like this "I'm sorry, Louis, I did not mean to upset you" he shook his head "it's alright, lets go to our coffins, the sun is rising".

We made our way to our room, said our good nights, then got in our coffins, and closed the lids. I don't know what it is about that child but something made me want to protect her, which was bad in my case. About 3 things of our kind is certain.

1.) Don't expose ourselves

2.) Never kill your own kind

3.) Never care/love a human

I've always followed those rules until today and lets just say that I think I broken the third rule...
