Kimberley’s POV:

My phone began to ring but it wasn’t a number I recognised. I looked at the number on the screen in bemusement before I decided to answer it. “Hello.” I puzzled.

“Hello, is this Miss Walsh?” The man on the other end questioned.

“It is.” I replied.

“I’m Dr. Westbrook, I am calling on behalf of Miss Cole as she has been brought into hospital unconscious this afternoon.”

“What?!” I exclaimed.

“It would be a good idea if you made your way to the hospital as soon as possible.”

“Okay.” I said as I stood up and grabbed my phone and bag. “I’ll be there as soon as I can.” I said before I hung up. I ran outside to my car before jumping in it and setting off. All kinds of thoughts were running through my head during this moment. What had happened? Why was she unconscious? Was she going to be okay? Who had found her? My mind was a mess. All I wanted to do was to get to the hospital as quickly and soon as I could. I needed to know that she was going to be okay. I was worried sick.

I walked up to the reception in the hospital waiting until the woman noticed me waiting there. “How can I help you?” The woman asked.

“I’m here to see Cheryl Cole.” I replied.

“Are you a related to her or a friend?” The woman then asked.

“I’m her girlfriend.”

The woman stared at me with an expression as if to say, ‘oh my god, your Cheryl Cole’s girlfriend?’ before she finally started tapping away at the computer in front of her. “She’s in ward 2, room 4.”

I walked up to where the ward was looking for the room number, turning my head left and right as I did so. Once I found the room I walked in. I was greeted by the beeping of the heart monitor and Cheryl laying there, motionless. I turned my head to the right, noticing Lily sat next to Cheryl’s bed. I stared at her. Why was she here after everything she had said?

“Hi.” She spoke up, sounding sorrowful.

I didn’t reply which returned a sigh from her. I had nothing to say to her. I walked over to the bed which Cheryl was laid in and sat by her bedside. I took hold of her hand, holding it tightly as if I was waiting for her to squeeze my hand to indicate she was okay; I got no indication at all.

“I found her.” Lily said, my head shot up.

“Where was she? How?”

“At her house. I’d gone round to see her, I knocked constantly there was no reply, all I could here was Buster and Coco barking, that’s when I knew something was wrong.” I looked at her, waiting for her to continue. “She had given me a key a while ago so that it would be easier for me to get hold of her or pick her up if we had to be somewhere for a certain time. We thought it would be easier that way.” Lily sighed.

“What kind of state was she in when you found her?” I asked.

“I let myself in and she was just laid there, at the bottom of the steps. She must have been bleeding because there was some blood underneath her head. I tried to wake her up but I got no response so I rang an ambulance and I came here with her.”

“What have the doctors said?” I questioned.

“They said that they don’t know how this was caused or what may have happened. They’ll know more when she wakes up, hopefully she hasn’t lost any of her memory.”

I nodded, taking everything that Lily had said in. “Thank you for ringing an ambulance. I know that we’ve not been on the best of terms but I want to put that behind me now, call it a truce?” I said.

“A truce it is.” She smiled.

Just as we said that the doctor walked in to check up on Cheryl. He looked in my direction. “Ah, you’re Miss Walsh?” He asked looking in my direction.

“I am, just call me Kimberley though.” I smiled.

He smiled. “Have you been informed about what has happened?” He asked, I nodded. “Good. We’ll know more when Cheryl wakes up, hopefully she hasn’t suffered any lasting damage. She’s also going to need stitches for that wound on her head.” He said. “I’ll leave you in peace.” He said looking at me and Lily before he left the room.

I turned to Lily. “How did he know about me?” I asked.

“I told him about you. You deserved to know.” She said.

“Thank you.” I mouthed.

Although things weren’t quite sorted with Lily regarding me and Cheryl it finally felt like we were getting somewhere at last. What she said can’t be taken away just like that but I was willing to forgive her. Deep down I knew she wasn’t a bad person. All I needed now was for Cheryl to wake up, I missed her happy, feisty, funny self. I needed to know she was going to be okay.
