Cristiano's P.O.V
I scream in pain as the defender's foot connects to my face. I feel blood pouring down my face as people crowd around me. I feel someone rush to my side and trying to rip my hands away from my face.
"Cris, stop. Let me see!" I shake my head no and keep holding my face.
"No, Leo I can't. It hurts so bad." He tears my hands away from my face and gasps. I hear everybody stop talking and I can feel the tension in the air.
"What? What is it? Why can't I see anything, Leo?!" Leo screams for the medics and I can feel myself getting carried off in an ambulance. I hear medics around me and feel wires being plunged into my arms.
-Few Hours Later-
I wake up in the hospital not knowing what's going on. It's dark and I hear beeping around me. I start to breath faster, trying to figure out what happened to me. I hear shuffling beside me.
"Who-Who's there?" I start to panic and try to rip every wire out of me.
"Shhh, shhh. Calm down, Cris. It's me." He grabbed my hand as I start to cry. He holds me closer and I sob into his chest.
"L-Leo what happened? I'm so scared. Is my career over?"
"No, baby, your career will never be over. You got kicked in the face by a defender and you said you could-couldn't see." His voice cracked at the end.
It was pure silence, the pain piercing through my heart knowing that my career may be over. The throbbing pain numbs when I realize that this is it, this was the end of my career.
"Leo... This is the end of my career. I can't see, I can barely move..." I look in his eyes. "This is your time to shine, baby. It's not You vs Me. It's you verses the world. It's all you." I start to cry at the end and i'm pulled into a warm embrace and a bunch of thank yous and i love yous.
-A Few Days Later-
I just got out of the hospital and they said I need to live with someone, and I chose Leo. It's been so frustrating to get around the house, I have to feel around for everything and it sucks. I have a doctors appointment in a week to see if my vision improved. The doctor said that my injuries may be too bad to play anyways, but i'm still hoping.
-A Week Later-
I take a deep breath as I walk into the doctor's office, having a death grip on Leo's hand. We walk up to the front desk and the nurse asks for our name.
"Ronaldo" She smiles sadly at us and apologizes for my injury. She points us down the hall and Leo guides me there. I sit down on the bench in his office and wait for him.
-An Hour Later-
They're about to test my vision. They put bandages over my eyes to protect them from exposure. I can feel the bandages start to come off and I take a deep breath in and close my eyes...

The bandages are all the way off and the doctor instructs me to slowly open my eyes. I take a deep breath in and open them.
I...
I can't see anything...
I can hear Leo break down and cry, pulling me into his arms.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so fucking sorry." My heart breaks as I listen to Leo. My career.. It's gone. No more soccer, no more living by myself, no more anything.
"My career... It's over." I start to cry and I can hear the doctor apologize and sigh as he walks out of the room. It just hit me that this is it. This is the end of my career.
Goodbye, soccer. This is my farewell.
Alternate(happy)-
The bandages are all the way off and the doctor instructs me to slowly open my eyes. I take a deep breath in and open them.
I...
I can fucking see...
I jump off of the table and run to Leo.
"Leo, I can see. I can see everything." He starts to tear up and hug me.
"I knew it. This isn't the end. It never was. You are Cristiano Ronaldo. I love you." His strong embrace makes me emotional knowing that he does love me.
"I love you too."
I hear the doctor congratulate me and tell me to come in for normal check ups just in case.
I hold Leo's hand and brace for all of the cameras outside of the hospital. We open the hospital doors and everything goes silent.
And I say
"My career will never be over. I can see."
