post-trau·mat·ic stress dis·or·der
noun
MEDICINE
a condition of persistent mental and emotional stress occurring as a result of injury or severe psychological shock, typically involving disturbance of sleep and constant vivid recall of the experience, with dulled responses to others and to the outside world. One day, I was just driving in a car, then, crash. It went black. I woke up a couple months later in the hospital. They told me that I had been in a coma. I got it of the hospital yesterday, on my way home, I saw it. It was so vivid. I could almost feel it happening again. Luckily, I wasn't driving. I started screaming for my brother to pull over. Once he did, I almost fell out of the car. I couldn't do it. I saw it. I saw every little detail. I saw myself, I saw my mom, I saw the drunk driver that ran us off the road. I saw it all.
I got back in the car, and made it most of the way home. It occasionally came back up, but I pushed it down as much as I could.
Next thing I knew, crash, black again.
*News later that day*
Fatal car crash happens right outside of North 23rd street. Brother and sister both die. They were allegedly going home from picking the sister up from the hospital, where she had been in a coma. The sister had fallen asleep, and in her state grabbed the wheel, and turned the pair into a tree.
