For Dean, college was shaping up to be even more lonely than high school. He had tried calling Lisa every day this week but everyday she'd been hanging out with the girl from the bar, who also happened to be her roommate, Charlie. Tonight was another Saturday that was seeing Dean with his roommate missing and nothing to do. He almost went to his computer to watch Busty Asian Beauties, his Dad's porn of choice, but then he began to imagine his ever stoic roommate walking into Dean pretending to be interested in Asian girl's boobs. Dean sighed just as the door opened and the aforementioned roommate carrying a greasy takeout bag.

"Um," The other boy scratched his neck awkwardly before lifting the bag a little higher. "I brought food?" He seemed so unsure of himself and his deep gravelly voice.

Dean couldn't decide what to respond with. This is the guy that had spent the past week alternating between glaring at Dean or pretending he didn't exist. Dean took a breath before nodding. "I have some beer in the-" The other boy shook his head quickly. "We saw what happened last time you had some beer," He said, his voice low as his cheeks pinked.

Dean arched his right eyebrow. Then it had been this guy that had changed him last week. Now it was zdean's turn to blush. He covered it up by clearing his throat. "Okay then. Let's see what we have here," Dean stood and walked over to peak in the bag.

"I-I already kn-know what's in there, so th-the correct expression would be let me see," The shorter man said stiffly. He blushed harder and cast his gaze to the ground. Dean chuckled a little bit. He was a funny one. Obviously a bit too serious, but funny. Dean nodded slowly, "Okay, well you got burgers, which happen to be my food of choice." He smile his signature smile, one that didn't reach his eyes but still usually melted people.

The other man nodded, "I like them too."

The awkward tension that vibrated around them could have been cut with a knife. Dean slid to the ground and patted the space next to him. As the the other boy eased onto the ground so did the tension. "So I'm Dean, what about you?" ZDean asked as he began to unwrap his hamburger.

"I'm Castiel," he said and crunched on a fry. He pulled away from it in surprise. "I-I didn't expect it to be that good." Dean burst out laughing, "How did you not know what a fry tastes like?"

"Um, I've only ever had a bite of a burger before and that was my first french fry. Which isn;t really french since they were made in Belgium," Cas said, his blush returned.

Dean nodded. Usually he could be known to be a bit prickly and not easy to get along with at all. But Cas, who apparently now had a knickname, made Dean's insides warm.

"Yeah okay so whoever raised you was slightly psycho," Dean laughed.

"You have no idea," Cas said bluntly, his eyes hauntingly dark.

Dean swallowed as he feltteh sudden overwhelming urge to protect this boy with everything he had.

"Well I guess I'm just gonna have to open up your mind to the culture of America, Home of the obese and Land of the apple pie," Dean laughed to himself.

Cas smiled a little too, picking at the threads of the carpet. This wasn't something he'd expected would ever happen to him. A hot boy leaning almost to close to him and laughing with him. It was about as normal as he'd ever experienced.

"What about you, dean," Cas asked, his voice shaky with nerves, "what about your child hood?"

Dean shrugged nonchalantly. "My childhood was legendary. Saving people, hunting things. The family business," Dean winked. "My dad's a private investigator who hunts bad guys. He always took me and Sammy along with him."

Cas bit his lip. "Who is Sammy?" He asked.

"That's my baby brother," Dean smiled. "We settled down for high school, though, which is how I ended up deciding to go get my degree."

Cas smiled as well. "Why was yours missing hamburgers?" Dean asked softly, reaching out for Cas' hands.

Cas jerked away from him, before blushing. "I'd rather not talk about it," he replied and stuffed his hands awkwardly in his pockets. Dean pulled his own two hands away and tried to find something to do with them.

Just then, Dean's phone let out a familiar sound and he answered it, happy for the distraction.

"Hey Lisa."

Cas listened intently to the conversation on the other end. The girl sounded pretty.

"No I'm a little busy- no I don't - Cas isn't really the kinda guy- ugh fine I'll ask him-" dean covered the mouth piece of his phone up.

"It's okay if you say no, but my friend and her girlfriend want to come over and play pictionary. I told her you probably wouldn't want to." Dean blushed and ducked his head. He kicked himself for being so bashful. When he flirted with girls he usually did it with confidence. What was going on?

Cas smiled a little, "sure I need new experiences right?"
