Hello readers!
Everyone has a story of how they got addicted to their favorite show, whether it be through suddenly discovering it while flipping through channels or being introduced to it by a friend or family member. Either way, you discovered it, and that's what matters.
The way I discovered The Walking Dead was through my stepfather. We were all looking for something to watch together that night, and he decided to suggest it. At that time, I wasn't really into zombie apocalypse stuff, so I was a little skeptical. However, I was quick to change my mind once he pulled up the first episode on Netflix.
As soon as Rick woke from his coma in the world of the undead, I was hooked. The plot wasn't like anything I'd seen before, and it was definitely a different kind of show for me. However, what kept me watching could be credited to the actors just as much as the creator, Robert Kirkman. The actors do such a great job portraying their characters, and it's interesting to see how much they all differ from the characters that I knew from the comics.
A lot of the credit, however, goes to the writers. The plot twists and little surprises make it hard to wait for the next episode. The way that Kirkman manages to get us familiar with all of the characters makes us seem all that more involved, and makes it that much harder when it's time to say goodbye to one of the characters.
I fell in love with The Walking Dead because of what went into it as well as what comes out on the screen, and I'm glad to be able to share that with you.
Now, readers, I have a question for you: How did you become hooked on The Walking Dead? Tell me in the comments, and I just might share a couple in next month's issue.
