About

Faizul Sany (or real name, Mohd Faizul Bin Sany) is a Malaysian singer from Tawau, Sabah. He rose to fame when he won the Akademi Fantasia season 10 (a popular singing competition in Malaysia) in 2013. Another popular work from him is a song titled "Perempuan" (Woman, in English).

Jatuh is an OST song for Aku Bukan Bimbo, a Malay drama.

Lyrics (Translation)

Tidakkah aku faham lagi   [Why didn't I get/understand this?]

Tentang telah berkali   [(About) this repeated thing]

Bukankah sudahku berjanji   [Didn't I already promise (to myself)]

Ku tak mahu   [I will not want (this)]

Note: "Ku tak mahu", in its literal form, is "I don't want". Very awkward indeed. He "don't want" what? Thus, we have to refer back to the line above it where he said "he already promised to himself" ("sudah" usually used to explain something that is done - so, some time ago) that he will not want (or be involved with) something - this something, I think, refers to the unwanted feeling he is having now.

Sedarkah aku semua ini   [Did I even realise that all these]

Pasti akan melukai   [Will definitely hurt (me)]

Sejujurnya diriku tahu   [Honestly I know]

Ku tak mahu   [I don't want (this)]

Note: This time around, "Ku tak mahu" is in its present form because of there is no "sudah" or "akan" (will - so, future tense) in the former sentence.

Adakah aku bodoh   [Am I a fool?]

Mahu saja ku tinggalkan dirimu   [I just want to leave you]

Note: What's interesting about "Mahu saja ku tinggalkan dirimu" is that the man really wants to leave his lover behind but at the same time, he is very reluctant to do so and end up staying (because of the "Mahu saja" in the line). In other words, it's just a wishful thinking.

Jiwa aku meminta   [My soul longs (for you)]

Batinku meronta   [My spirit feels restless]

Note: "Jiwa aku meminta" is, in its pure form, "My soul asks". *a moment of silence* It doesn't really make sense in English so I have to change to words to "My soul longs (for you)" to suit the song better. Next, "Batinku meronta" means "My soul/spirit struggles to get loose". Again, doesn't sound good so the next best alternative is "My spirit feels restless".

Biar jiwaku digari   [Let my soul be shackled]

Biarpun sakit di hati   [Let (me feel) the pain in (my) heart]

Walau seburuk mana caramu   [No matter how cruel your acts are]

Tetapku jatuh   [I will still fall (for you)]

Note: Another translation for "Biarpun sakit di hati" is "Even if my heart hurts" (far more accurate actually). However, in order to be consistent with the "Biar" word used above it, I have to apply the word "Let" again here. "Walau seburuk mana caramu" literally means "No matter how hideous your attitude is" but if you have watched Aku Bukan Bimbo (I didn't but I read the summary), the heroine basically used all kinds of cruel/evil tactics to get her revenge on the murderer of her family (she then fell in love with the murderer - what?). Hmmm..yeah.
