"we could buy a house over there." My dad points at a small house near my school, across the road as we walk on the side walk.
I just got out of school and my dad couldn't stop staring at the small house across the street and in front of my school Everytime he comes to pick me up.
"Dad our house Is good." I say and my dad look down at me.
"Well.. it is, but the landlady is a selfish shrimp, she squeezes every penny that comes in my pocket." My dad whines and grabs my hand as we cross the road.
"She isn't that bad, she always asks for you in the morning, I think she even likes you." I say and my dad burst into laughter.
"Of course, she'd always look for me in the morning." He says then chuckles.
We got home at a old apartment in front of the street.
We climb up the iron stairs until we reached the second floor.
"Hey Carter!" Jericho our neighbors throws his basketball at me.
I caught and threw it into the basket he stick to the front door of his house.
Jericho is dark skinned, curly hair, has been my neighbor and bestfriend for year and we would always play sport after school.
Jericho catches the ball and smile.
"Wanna play later?" He asks and I smile.
"Sure, I will meet you in minute." I say and let go of my dad's hand as I rush into our apartment and dropped my bag on the floor and was about to rush into my room but then a arms caught me.
"Oops, pick that up Carter." My mom says.
"Sorry." I apologized then kissed my mom on the cheek before rushing back to pick the bag I dropped on the floor before rushing into my room.
I pull on my shirt then change into a another shirt, I pull on my shoe attempting to remove it, jumping up on down then wear my flip-flops then run back out of my room.
"You just got back, where are you going?" My mom ask and I look at her and smile. "Oh no, not yet."
"Please mom." I beg as I grab my water bottle. "Please! Only for a hour."
"Only a hour Carter, less than a hour but not more than a hour."
"Thank you mom!" I say and rush to the door.
"Only a hour Carter." She reminded
I rush out of the house eagerly and saw jericho leaning on his door.
"Let's go to the basketball court!" He says once he sees me then grabs my hand as we ran down the apartment stairs.
We ran down the sidewalk until we reached the park.
We ran pass the park until we reached the basketball court.
The place was still empty, but normally it would be filled with boys passing ball and sweating all over.
"Let's quick start playing before the others comes."
We played for some times, tossing the ball and stealing the ball from each other until some groups of guys started appearing.
"Dang it! They are already arriving, we should get going." Jericho says disappointed since it's just been 30 minute.
"Yeah we should." I agree and grabbed the ball on the floor and my water bottle from the ground.
"We should race home, the first person to reach home is winner." Jericho suggested.
"Okay, last is loser." I say then quickly started running.
