"What?" I asked, astonished.
"You heard me, you two are both under arrest for destroying public property."
It was then I realized that the entire tavern was a wreck, with glasses shattered on the floor and tables flipped over.
However, getting arrested wasn't the least of my worries...
*~~*
I woke up a stray, inside a cell, with nothing but my heartbeat keeping me company.
"Where am I?" I asked to no one in particular.
"Why my dear, you are in a cell in my laboratory."
I turned towards the bittersweet voice, and saw a woman who appeared to be in her mid twenties, dressed in an snow white lab coat, with black cat ears and tail, and green hair extending to her knees.
"Who are you?"
She looked at me, she had big round glasses and pink eyes to match her colorful hair. I recognized her. That bittersweet voice, that bright smile that at the same time seemed full of menace, and those huge, round glasses.
"Alica? What are you doing here?"
Silence.
" So, Natalie, you are a demon, right?" She asked, changing the subject rather quickly.
I paused. Why had she avoided my question?
"Yes. Yes I am."
*~~*
My name is Natalie Clark. I'm a twenty-five year old female, five foot nine, and well, I'm a demon. I was cursed like this when I was a little girl. Of course it was to save my village, but after I was born, I was... outcasted. No body would want to talk to me, I mean who would want to associate with a demon in the first place? I didn't blame them. The only people who did accept me for who I was was my family, comprised of my little sister, and my mom and dad. I loved them with all of my heart, and I wouldn't let any one hurt them. But, I soon learned that all good things must come to an end. They all died when I was thirteen.
*~~*
"Come on. Let's go." The guard broke my thoughts, when he spoke.
"Where are we going?" I scoffed.
"Are you that stupid? He's obviously taking us to the town prison." He glared at me. I looked at the guard for reassurance, and he nodded.
We walked with him to the prison where he took us to our cells. I had expected that we would have separate ones, but he put us in the same one, since he said that there wasn't any more room left. He unlocked our handcuffs, and pushed us into the small room.

"This is your fault you know." I told the werewolf with annoyance still lingering in my voice.
"My fault!?"
"Yeah. If you hadn't poured my drink over my head and provoked me then maybe we wouldn't be here!"
I walked slowly over to the opposite side of the cell, and sat facing away from him. After some time of silence I spoke once more.
"What's your deal anyway. I mean, why couldn't you let me sit in the dang spot?" I shouted, with anger erupting in my voice.
"It was my dad's." He said calmly.
"So?"
"He died a while back."
Darn it. That was a bad move. What should I do? Apologize?
"I-"
"It's fine. Can we just... not talk about it?" There was another moment of silence.
"So...what's your name?"
"Natalie. Natalie Clark."
"I'm Xander Haze."
Well, at least I know his name. I didn't realize it, but I guess that I accidentally smiled, because he gave me both a face of confusion and horror. Embarrassed, I changed the subject.
"So.. How are we going to get out of here?"
"What do you mean? Couldn't we just wait until our time here is done?"
"How long do you think that week be here?"
"I don't know. Until the morning?" I shook my head.
"The O'khasis law is that if you commit a crime, your punishment is equal to what you did. In this case, since it was vandalism, we will be here until the tavern is back to normal. Which looking at what we did, is probably a month and a half."
"WHAT."
"Yeah. So that's why I want to escape." Immediately after that sentence came out of my mouth, he started scouting the walls for hollow spots. He had a crazed look on his face, which scared me slightly.
"Well? What are you waiting for? Let's escape!" It was then that I noticed that there was a light shining in my face. It wasn't a light, but the moon. I hadn't noticed that there was a window with iron bars on it.
"Hey, you're a werewolf, so knock these iron bars down so we can get out of here."
"What does it matter if I'm a werewolf?"
"I thought that all werewolves ares supposed to be supper strong. So knock these bars down."
"I'm not gonna do that."
"Is it because you were the weakest in your family and you don't want to be embarrassed?" He clenched his fists tightly. I could see the moment that my comment had got to him. I knew this would happen since everyone says that werewolves are weak-minded.
With one powerful blow, he broke the bars from the stone opening in the wall.
"Well, what do you have to say to th-"
"'K thanks!" I cut him off, then squeezed through the opening. He did the same, mumbling bitter comments that I couldn't hear. I breathed in the fresh Spring air, and looked at Xander.
"Well, what should we do next, werewolf?"
