"Yeah, ok Mom, I know. Bye"
I got up from my sofa-chair. After just having lunch, everyone was sitting around drinking hot chocolate next to the giant fireplace in the hotel lobby. I really wanted to get out to adventure, calling it "buying toothpaste" to Mom. I turned a corner and burst out of the foyer doors. I found myself in the freezing cold, suddenly surrounded by snow and bustling people. I was told to "sprint there and back". No thank you.
I zipped my coat all the way up and pulled my hat down over my forehead. It was just across the road, to the right. I trudged through a thin layer of snow, following Dad's directions, which had been repeated to me a trillion times. Russia was big, but not that big. I found myself running through the snowy pathway, falling snowflakes speeding past my face. I pretended the rest of my family weren't back in the hotel, and that I was this free all the time.
I reached the shop in no time. A small, busy gas station, attatched to a large building, used for something else. The line reached to the other end of the shop and outside the doors. It consisted mostly of construction workers in high-vis jackets. I entered, slightly annoyed, and decided I'd go to the bathroom to kill some time before the line got shorter. After failing to find one, I wandered next door in my search, which I discovered to be an ice rink! At reception, there was one girl at the desk. She directed me to the bathroom and I set off down a long hallway. The place seemed completely empty and I very nearly turned back, until I heard music.
