Amber took a quick look at the peephole to see ten men dressed in black and one man in a dark grey suit in front of her door. What have I done now? Hesitatingly, she opened the door with a forced smile plastered on her face.
"Hello, sorry to keep you waiting, I was -"
"We're the agent of S.H.E.I.L.D., the Strategic Hazard intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate, I'm Agent Coulson we need to investigate this area." The man in the suit interrupted, while holding up his warrant card with a logo of an eagle on it.
"What?" She asked, slowly trying to absorb the burst of new information. Agent Coulson simply walked pass her and the rest of the men followed behind. "That's not really nice." She muttered while closing the door behind her. S.H.E.I.L.D.'s agent quickly filled up her room, rudely looking through whatever they wanted. Amber shuddered, vaguely reminded of the robbery incident that took away her mother's life.
"Take everything, take everything you want, just don't hurt my daughter!" Her father cried out exasperatingly, desperately hugging Amber. The smell of her mother's blood on her father's shirt ran up her nostrils.
"Stop! This is violation of human privacy. What are you doing?" She shouted, anger started rising when one of the agents walked over to her father's table and pulled the drawer open, tossing the neatly folded documents messily on the table after reading them.
"Sir, I think we've found some useful information here." The agent said, his eyes never leaving the paper he's flipping through." And Mam, it's our duty-"
"This is my house, and I have the rights here!"
"Please, trust us. We're good people." Coulson stepped in calmly.
"More like robbers!" She snapped, her eyes at Agent Coulson's, before stomping towards the man at her father's table.
"Hold her back." Agent Coulson commanded pacifically with a small hand gesture. The man at the table quickly placed the document he's holding down and grabbed both of her hands easily. She tried to struggle free, but was too restless against his strong grip, so she stood still, her petite wrists limp under the agent's big palms.
"I'm going to call the police." She threatened but no one seemed affected by this. Her attention was back as she noticed two men making their way towards her father's working table again. "Stop! That's my father's property!" She called out desperately. They ignored her and continued marching towards the table. Amber's anger increased with every step they take. "STOP!" She screamed, throwing herself away from the agent that was holding her, but his grip tightened and he wrapped his free hand around her torso to pull her back. "I SAID STOP!" She screamed, outstretching her right arm. The two men flew backwards and crashed their heads against the bookshelves behind them. Amber stared, wide-eyed, at the scene before her. What just happened? Everyone stopped searching and is now staring at her. She turned around to look at the man holding her, and raised her hand delicately to his right shoulder. He immediately flew back and slammed onto the wall. She took in a slow breath before looking down at her shaky hands. Is this a prank?
"Seize her." Agent Coulson commanded, taking two steps backward as he grabbed something from the pocket of his pants. Amber was too panicked to notice people running towards her. Instead, she gripped her head and screamed. Everyone flew backwards, and all the furniture in her house rattled and sprang out of its place. The golden-framed family portrait fell and glass shattered on the floor, her father's books came to life and jumped out of its shelves. She stopped screaming and took in the chaos she's done with big-glassy eyes. Suddenly, a sharp pain jabbed her nape and drowsiness overtook her body. She turned around just in time to see Agent Coulson holding a dart gun before she fell onto the cold, wooden ground.
