Author's Note
Good day! This is my first attempt at writing a fan fiction, so don't expect a novel resembling that of J.R.R. Tolkien. Also, english is not my native language so go easy on me (but feel free to correct my spellings/grammar. I'm an open-minded learner. Ti-hee!). Thanks for reading, and hopefully there will be more parts soon. Feel free to comment and vote <3________________________________________________________________________________
Staring above our plain black office ceiling, I just realized how typical my life is. To think that a graphic designer's life would be exciting, boy was I wrong. On a typical Tuesday afternoon, the digital clock showing it's nearly 4:15, I decided to give my mom a call. After a couple of ring:Me: Ma! (That's what I call my mother alright)
Ma: Whoa, what has my daughter eaten? Is this really happening? You? Calling me first? Have you gone mad?
Me: Har-har! Very funny, I was just wondering if you're free tonight?
Ma: WHY?
Me: Maaaa, just because I'm inviting you somewhere doesn't mean something's wrong!
Ma: *laughs* Okay, hmmm.. Actually no, Evan and I are going somewhere with his.. err.. uhm.. coworker. You're free to join though! (she talks like a confused excited woman. TYPICAL of women. HA!)
Me: Oh.. nahhhh. I'll pass. Say hi to him for me anyways.
(Okay, so I think a little background check is in order: My mom and dad are annulled due to irreconcilable differences. My mom re-married while my dad is still having the best days of his life being free. KIDDING. Mom got married to Evan 3 years ago, but they've been together more than that. Evan's a pretty cool dude, as long as he's in the right mood.)
Ending the phone call, I started to focus on checking my email if another design request was sent to me. Fortunately, there was one. Normally my eyes would pop out seeing that the sender is from our CEO, but our CEO is one of the most down-to-earth people I've ever met. (He's like a father figure to every one. I've worked with him when he was still a general manager of one of our small companies as I work as a junior graphic designer fresh from graduating.) Opening the email, it contained:

OH-MY-GOSH! You've got to be kidding me?!!!! I've been working as a Junior Graphic Designer for 3 years now.. I never thought this day will come! Grabbing my phone, I dialed the first person I wanted to share the news with.. my mentor:
Me: PAAAAAAAA!!!! Guess what?!!
Pa: Well hello to you too *chuckles*
Me: PAAAAAAAA!!!
Pa: Yes? What is it my lovely daughter? You soun-
Me: Oh shush now Pa! I got promoted!!!!
Pa: About time! So that's what Aden wanted to talk about.. *mumbles*
Me: Ha? You talked to Sir Aden?
Pa: What? Uhhh.. yes. But he didn't mention it was you he would promote.
Me: Oh really now, knowing that I'm the only one in the creative department that could do animation?
Pa: He-he.. you got me there.. Anyways, this calls for a celebration!
Me: Yes! When will you be back?
Pa: Now that you've mentioned it.. I'll be staying here a couple more days.
Me: Aww.. is everything okay with grandma?
Pa: Yes, everything's fine. It's just I haven't been here for a while and I want to make sure your grandma is fully recovered before I return.
Me: Oh, okay.. Well let's celebrate when you get back then, tell them I love them!
Pa: What about me?
Me: Eww dad, you know I don't say the L word directly to people.
Pa: Oh come on, it's been a long time since Thom-
Me: Oh well would you look at the time! Gotta go, byeee!
"Andi!" turning around I saw my workmate Matt "Yes?" I asked with one raised brow. "Someone's in the reception looking for you!" he shouted across the room. "Gee, do you have to broadcast it to the whole art department? I whined while standing up from my seat. "Yes, since you're sitting on the farthest corner of the room." he retorted while he messed my hair a bit as I passed him on my way to the door. "Hey! Touch anything but the bangs!" (yep, I'm a fringe girl) I whined again. All I could hear was his soft chuckle as I exited the art department. Nearing the reception, I got curious as who would be visiting me at work since I have 0 social life. Pressing my pointing finger on our fingerprint door, I noticed a familiar figure sitting on the reception sofa with his face away from me. I can see he's busy watching the colossal 6 part LED screen that's playing our company's reel video that I created on my younger years at work.
"Ahem." I fake coughed, then he turns to face me.. *Le gasps* "Mr. Bryan?" I asked wide eyed. "Well hello there dear, good to see you've grown.. a bit" he started and ended with a grin. "Psh, hey! Feelings!" I pouted.. trying to force myself not to copy his big grin. "Oh come on, you know it's funny" he said with a grin still plastered on his face. "Yeah, right. People that keeps stating the bloody obvious which is my short height. Very funny." I said sarcastically. "Oh lighten up, aren't you glad to see me?" he asked with puppy eyes. "Hahah-ugh.. fine. It's good to see you.. it's been a while," I surrendered my fake hurt face as I hugged him.
"What brings you here?" I asked. "Well, I'm on my way to see Evan and your mom in 2 hours but she said you passed." he said while observing me with an amused look. "Well.. I wasn't in the mood to meet other people. And you know me uncle.. I'm not used to being surrounded by strangers. Ma said Evan is meeting with his coworker.. Wait.. are you that coworker? But.. you don't work together.." I said frowning a bit. "Actually, I'm here to meet Evan for business" he said. "What business?" I asked. "Well.. you'd have to come with me to find out" he smirked. Rolling my eyes, I turned my back and went on my way to the door I went through earlier. "Where are you going? The curious young lady I knew would have nagged me what the business is about." he said while crossing his arms. "I'm just going to get my bag uncle Bryan" I said while punching my finger on the fingerprint scanner.
"So.. what are you really here for?" I asked as we were on our way to his car. "I said business, that's all information you're going to get from me.. for now" he said while opening the door for me. "Ugh.. fine". After a few minutes inside the now silent moving car "Ugh, fine don't tell me.. But.. are you here to film or different business?" I asked looking at the scenery on the car window. "Ha, I knew you'd ask that. Actually, I'm here for both." he said smiling. I gave him a weird look and he just gave me shrug. "Well.. then what does it have to do with me?!" I questioned going impatient like a little kid. "You, young lady will get to finally be a part of my team." he said while stopping on a red stop light. Looking over me, all he saw was a look of confusion "You said so yourself when you were younger right? Uncle Bryan, some day when I gain enough experience.. I will be a part of your band! The Bryan SINGER team!" he said imitating my voice in a squeaky higher tone. The confused face I had soon turned into one of a shock. A GOOD SHOCK.
Google "Bryan Singer", I DARE YOU. ;)
