I stirred my mashed potatoes around with my spoon, too upset after talking about our old friends to eat. Miss Peregrine came into the dinning room, a look of fear plastered on her face.

"Children we are going on lock down, there has been some wight and hollow sightings near the island. So you are never to go outside under any circumstances." The children didn't bother to argue, hollows and wights? Near the island? I slowly began to freak out, there's no way I could handle another attack. Apparently Enoch noticed my state because he took my arm.

"Alyssa we'll be fine."

"That's what Miss Jay said before the loop was raided." I told him, calming down a bit. We all slowly ate our food, dragging it on to waste time, since we can't go outside to play games.

We all were getting up to either go to the lounge or our rooms when there was a knock at the door. We all froze, even Miss Peregrine. There was another knock. And another. Finally Miss P went to the door, slowly opening it. She gasped and tried to slam the door but who ever was behind it was too quick. A man walked in, he was tall, pale, he held a bird cage, and his white irises shined like the moon.

"Hello Miss Peregrine." His voice was so calm it sent shivers down my spine. "Now if you wish your precious little children to live then I'd get in the cage." Tears slid down Miss Peregrine's face, then Olive began to cry.

"Shh my little magpie shh don't worry." Bronwyn tried to comfort her, but Olive cried louder. Miss P went up to her, kissed her forehead, then transformed into a bird. I've seen many beautiful things in my life, but none as beautiful as what I just witnessed.

"There we go now children why don't you run upstairs, get a little head start from my three hollow friends show up." My arms and legs felt like jelly, I would have fallen if it weren't for Enoch standing next to me. The wight had a badge on, it said Mr White, some cruel joke. He let out a vile burst of laughter. "bye little children, have fun with the hollows." he left the house.

"What are we going to do?" Hugh asked.

"Everyone hurry upstairs quickly now." Jewels announced. We all scurried up the stairs like mice, Michael, Enoch, Jewels, and I taking up the back. When we reached the third story we heard something roar, the hollows.

"What are we gong to do?!' Hoarce panicked, "we are all going to die!"

"No we are no-" Jewels voice was caught off by the sound of the front door busting down. I began pacing around thinking for some way to kill the hollows...

"I got it!" I screamed. Everyone looked at me as I ran into a nearby room, there were giant rolls of paper and coloring pencils. "Millard how wide and tall is the hallway?" I asked

"It's five feet across and eight feet tall." I tore off some of the paper and took it to the end of the hallway where there was a window.

"Help me put this paper on the wall." I told them and everyone helped glue and tape the papers to the wall. Once they were all up I began coloring it, I drew the hallway and made it appear longer then I drew portraits of us all on the paper. I closed my eyes and concentrated, the drawing of us looked panicked and began running down the hall drawing. It looked just like it was actually us.

"You're a genius Alyssa! Now when the hollows come they'll run right through the wall!"

We heard something slamming furniture around on the second floor.

"Okay there's just two more things, Millard the drawings can't make sounds so I was wondering if you could stomp your feet in front of the painting then jump out of the way when the hollow gets too close."

"Yes I will." and he quickly got undressed.

"Great and now Victor and Bronwyn, I need you two get the heaviest objects you can find and throw them at the hollow just in case the fall doesn't kill it." They both nodded then they and Millard, I think, ran down to the painting Bronwyn and Victor hid in a room next to it. The others and I went to the opposite hall and hid. A few moments later there was the sound of a hollow running up the stairs recklessly. I peaked around the corner to see the shadow of the hollow as it ran at the painting. There was a loud crash and a giant hole was left in the wall. Bronwyn ran out with a desk in her arms, which she threw out the hole. She peaked over the edge.

"Dang it I missed! Go Victor go!" She punched a hole in the door way to make it just big enough for Victor to carry out a gigantic dresser. He threw it over. There was a loud crash. Followed by what sounded like a bug being crushed under a foot. Abe ran over to the hole.

"You hit it!" He cheered. All the children began to cheer and clap when Michael spoke up.

"Shut up all of you! I hope you haven't forgotten about the other hollows just down the stai-" a dark shadow appeared in the hall. Abe yelled for us to back up. It scared me. Yes we are about to die, but what scared me the most is that all we can do is sit here and wait. Wait for the screams. Wait for the feeling of a strong tentacle wrapping around your waste. Wait for the pain of something entering your eye sockets. I could see the shadow of the tentacles come out of its mouth. Here it comes.

We all huddled together, ready for our death. We all closed our eyes.

There was a quiet swoosh sound, kinda like the sound a bow makes when you fire an arrow. I opened my eyes slowly. There was an arrow dangling in mid air. The hollow screeched an fell to the ground. Behind it was a group of people. Kids to be exact. There was four of them. One of them stepped forward. She had blond hair, blue eyes, and a necklace with a fire charm on it. I gasped.

"Ruth?"
