The System

22 1 1

There is madness surrounded by peace
In this invasive system of ours.
The way we are taught, graded, observed
Through chaos, achieving order.

The system we are required to be a part of
The system that encourages differences
But punishes rebellion
And the imperfection of control.

We are taught to think freely
But are our minds really free
When we are prepared and conditioned
For normality and guidelines?

The system that asks us to be unique
And trains us to be one.
Where is individuality
When we are confronted with forced expectations?

This is the hypocrisy of the system
Requesting variation and
Requiring unification
For the future

The system that divides yet conquers
The system that stimulates change
And the system that reprimands change
The system that is unstoppable and forever.
