A/N: I would like to dedicate this, to my older brother, tiger002, because he helped me edit, and proofread the first couple chapters of my story. Now, I'll let you read the story, as well. I hope you can enjoy!

There I was, lying in my bed, just watching time go by. I knew I had a headache. But, at the same time, the pain wasn’t there. I tried to sleep, but my body wouldn’t let me. So, I just stared up at the ceiling. It was pitch black. Though, even though I could see nothing, I saw a light shed upon the entire room. It was blinding at first glance, but then I witnessed something I could never forget.

It was as though there was an angel right there. They said something, but I wasn’t able to hear them. But despite that, I could tell what they were saying.

What was this feeling?

What was causing it?

Was I just going paranoid, or was it a dream?

Just what?

Then, the light turned to flames and ashes. There seemed to be a monster like creature in there, too. It certainly wasn’t human. Suddenly, I felt my headache get even worse than it already was. I felt fear, I felt pain, and also… I felt hatred.

All of these emotions came welling up inside of me, and I felt myself unable to do anything. But, I noticed something. It seemed to be a door. So, I stood up, and walked to it. As I came up to it, I pushed it open, and saw the light once more. I walked past the door, and into the light that had filled the room. Then, I heard a voice. It was clear this time.

The light shall lead the way,” the voice said.

I didn’t see anyone standing there, nobody to speak to. And so, I ventured forward, following the light. And as I did, I felt that presence again. And once again, I heard the voice.

As you continue, you will face a challenge. So long as you follow the light, you will be protected.”

Before, it was too late, I had to ask them something… I didn’t care if the answer wasn’t clear, I just wanted some kind of response.

“Wait. Before you leave… Just who are you? And why are you telling me these things?” I couldn’t help but ask. I had to know just who was leading my way. Who was carrying my fate in their hands?

You will know soon enough, young one… Just be patient.”

“Wait! Can’t you tell me? Please, I’m begging you!” As I felt their presence disappear, I reached my arm out, trying to reach for them… I knew it wouldn’t do much, I just had to try. “Please… Tell me… Just why me?” As I felt a couple tears drop down my face, I couldn’t help but fall to my knees.

Why was I the one?

Why did I have to go through all of this?

Was this because of the sins I’ve committed?

Or, was it because this was the end of my time?

I thought about all of this that was going on for a minute, and I decided that I would listen to them. I wasn’t sure where this would take me, or what would happen if I were to go but, that didn’t matter at the time. So, I stood up, and looked to where the light was, and went towards it.

As I went forward, I saw a sword lying on the ground, in front of another door. Also, I saw a sign that said:

Use this weapon, and become a warrior that will protect everyone. If you choose not to, then you may return back to where you began.

“Huh? I can choose if I want to go home? How is that even possible? And why would I? I’ve made it this far. So, why would I go back?” I was trying to figure out just what made me go with the decision I made that day. But, I knew that it was for the best.

So, I bent down, and picked up the sword that was lying in front of me. All of a sudden, I felt an energy emitting from it. It started to glow. It was kind of a gold, but yet silver light. As I saw this, I heard the voice once more.

So, you have chosen the path of a warrior. The battle will be a tough one. But, I will protect you.”

“Who… Are you?” I asked. Though as I heard them I could kind of figure it out… The pureness that He carried in his heart. An overwhelming kindness that filled me with joy. Yes. It was Him. The one who I’ve heard all about. It was My Lord. My savior. The one who carried me when I was in pain. Who always stuck by my side, no matter what.

“You already know… I’m your savior.”

“Yes…” I couldn’t fight these words. It was all too real. I was filled with light. Something I’d never expect to happen. To someone as humble as I.

So tell me.

If you had the choice, to fight for your savior.

Would you pick up that sword?

Or, would you return to the place you considered home?
