The moon

"Cam!" I yelled jumping onto the back of  a black haired boy. He grunted at first but continued walking. "What ground breaking thing did you do this time?" Cam asked as I buried my chin into his broad shoulder.

To any one watching this scene play out, they would have thought we were dating. We're not. We're best friends, but of course that's soo hard to believe.

"Nothing. Jeez Cam can I not just jump on my best friends back from time to time?" I said grinning. "Oh come one Fire! I can just feel your stupid grin. Cough it up. What did you do?" He insisted. "Ok fine. I may or may not have punched that Don kid.... And got away with it!" I said fist bumping the air. Spike laughed and shook his head. "Your crazy Fire..." Can said putting me down as we walked into Transfiguration.

No, Fire is not my name. He just calls me Fire because of my firey red hair. My proper name is Davyet Kyla Potter. Yes, I'm a Potter kid. Third actually. After Albus Severus Potter but before Lily Luna Potter.

"Hey Davet- Dayvet- Davety..." Itzel began. "It's Davyet. You pronounce it like David. If it's that hard just call me Kyla." I said shrugging the often mispronunciation off. Yep, my name is basically David. My parents aren't the best at names. My mom named a owl Pig once.

"Uh- Kyla. So... Do you understand this? I just don't get it." Itzel said, her face glowing almost as red as her hair. "Yeah!- yeah, I can help you. It's not too hard. See the mouse. Here I'll hold him for you. Point your wand- yeah. And swish a tiny bit to the left and say the spell.... See! That wasn't to hard right?" I cheered Itzel on. She went red again, but quickly went back to her normal shade as she ran off to show McGonagall her goblet.

" are you kidding me Davyte!" Cam groaned as I dragged him down the hall. "Are you seriously that mad at me? That you can't even use my nickname? Oh well. I did you a favor Cam." I insisted not letting go of his sleeve, "how did you do me a favor? I doubt I would get that chance again." Cam said grumpy. "Good. Come on Cam! You don't want Melany Sandler! She'd make you buy her stuff and leave you in an heartbeat." I protested. "I know.... Still....." Cam said defeated. "But please tell me your not having a serious case of slug throw up." Cam said bouncing back to his casually annoyed with me tone. I chuckled. "Not yet at least. But I have a feeling I'll get that in about a week or two, I can feel them squishing around in there." I said and Cam scrunched up his face. "Eww, Fire! Did not need to know that!" He said and I laughed.

It was almost curfew, if I didn't get out now, I never will. I slowly creeped out of the castle, carful Peeves didn't see me, or the caretaker Filch. I reached the whomping willow easily, with out getting caught. I liked to sit out here and admire the tree, when I could be alone and just admire it, the tree has a deeper meaning to me, yes it was a big part of my dads adventures but it's also where my grandfather stuck with his friend even through he was a werewolf. An amazing friendship. Not that I don't have amazing friendships, I mean Cam is an awesome friend. I just think it's amazing how great my grandfather was, dispute what others might say.

Albus Severus Potters POV

"No one is allowed outside tonight. The Nefi moon is out tonight. Is everyone inside?" Professor McGonagall said worried. Everyone looked around. "Where's Davyte!" I yelled standing up and frantically searching the grand hall. On the other side of the hall, Davyte's best friend, Cameron, stood up. "She's not here!" He yelled to me and we frantically asked everyone if they'd seen her. The answer was the same. 'Haven't seen her since dinner' or 'maybe in the common room?' But she couldn't be in the common room because the head boy and girl made sure everyone came down.

"Listen jerk, normally I would never help you, but Davyte helped me so I guess I'll help you find her. I saw her head out the front doors a few hours ago." Itzel said plainly, with her hands on her hips and her lips pursed. She hates me as you can probably tell. But that didn't matter to me at the moment. She offered the best bet we got.

"Hey, Cameron!" I called heading out of the great hall, Professor McGonagall following close behind. "Alright, I understand your need to find your sister. But we can't go outside. We won't help her if we go out to. I sent the teachers to search the building. You can search outside through the windows." Professor McGonagall said. I didn't understand why this moon thing was so important but she seems to know what she's talking about more than I do. Me and Cameron ran around Hogwarts from window to window.

"Hey, have you seen Daniel?" Cameron asked after the third window, we had to climb sets of stairs to get to the next window, and out of breath from running. "Daniel? Isn't that the sixth year brown haired boy? Tall? Last name starts with S or maybe it's R..." I said confused on why Cameron would be worried about this kid when his best friend is missing. "You don't know him? He's dating your sister!" Cameron said shocked. "What? Since when?" I asked, I mean I occasionally heard her talk about him... But she always insisted he was nobody. I guess I was stupid to believe her. "A month... I think... Never mind that. The real question is why isn't he helping us look for her? What kind of boyfriend is he!" Cameron said angrily.

We reached the next window. It showed the whomping willow.....
Davyte! "Oh Merlin, that's her!" Cameron yelled bolting down the stairs, I ran after him. "Professor McGonagall! She's outside! By the whomping willow!" I yelled to the professor all the way on the other side of the hall. McGonagall's lip curled like she was about to say something but thought better of it. With a moment of hesitation McGonagall waved for us to follow.

She lead us into the hospital wing. "Poppy. She's outside. Be prepared for her." McGonagall vanished and Madame Pomfrey ran around muttering something, I tried to pick it up but after a moment I just didn't care. McGonagall reappeared carrying an extremely pale girl, her eyes were closed and tears were running down her cheeks. I made a delayed realization that the girl is Davyte.

"What happened to her?" I asked desperately. "The moon." McGonagall answered distracted placing her in the bed and searching around the room while Madame Pomfrey gave Davyte potions but nothing made any noticeable difference. "Is she awake, she's alive right?" I asked the last part rushed. McGonagall paused from her frantic searching. "She's alive, but not awake. In a trance. She's fighting the moon over her soul." McGonagall said, her voice shaky as she found what she was looking for and grabbed the parchment, quill, and ink.

"Fighting over her soul? How long will that last? What if she wins? What if she loses?" I asked, taking a moment to see what Cameron was doing. He sat beside Davyte, he was listening but seemed to shocked to say anything.

"It could take as little to a few hours to a few months. Depends on how strong she is. If she wins, she'll have her soul and carry on- but that's very rare. If she loses- then she'll lose her soul and become an almost lifeless human. Just walking through life. It will be like a dementor kissed her." McGonagall said taking a quick break from writing. I fell into a chair besides Cameron and Davyte, McGonagall handed the letter to an owl. "Get this to Mr. And Mrs. Potter as fast as you can and James Sirius Potter for this one." She told the owl, who flew out of the window. I was going to say something, but I didn't know what to say for the first time in my life.

My best friend, Scorpius Malfoy, walked in the room. "What happened is she okay?-" Scorp began but before he finished Madame Promfrey rushed as three besides McGonagall out of the hospital wing. "I'll tell you in the dorms." I told Scorp plainly.
