The Welcome Dance

The next day we went to school, we were told that we had to attend the "welcome dance." It was a girls ask boys dance. All I could think about was who I was going to ask. So after school all of us cousins went to my room, and was trying to figure out who we should ask. Sophie new right away that she was going to ask Ryder. Then there was a knock on my door, it was all the other girls from our class. They heard we were discussing who we were bringing to the dance, so they all came here for us to help them.

Then after about an hour we all knew who we were going to ask. Lesley was asking Riley, Ashley was asking Alex, Amber was asking Carter, Hailey was asking Michael, Lilly was asking Jordan, Sophie was asking Ryder, Megan was asking Matt, Alana was asking Asher, Hannah was asking Harry and I was asking Tyler.

We all are kinda shy so we got someone to ask the guy for each of us. Every boy said yes!

Thank god that we stopped in Nova Scotia, or else none of us would have had anything to where to the dance, so when we got off the boat all of us girls went to a dress shop called "fancy dancy." I picked out a beautiful yellow knee-length dress. All the other girls picked out the same dress as mine but in different colours. Alana's was blue, Megan's was hot pink, Sophie's was lime green, Hannah's was red, Lesley's was aqua, Ashley's was purple, hailey's was orange, Ambers was black, and Lilly's was baby blue. After we all got our dresses we paid and then we left to go see where all the guys were at. They were at the tuxedo shop but as soon as we found them they were ready to go somewhere else. So we all went to Pizza delight and ate. When we were there, there was like no talking at all, it was so awkward, I guess everyone is just so nervous. Then we had to get on the boat again before we get ready for the dance. It was 3:00 pm and everyone was rushing even though it started at 7:30 pm. All of us girls went to the salon on the boat and got our hair done. We all curled our hair, but in different ways. Some was loose curls and some were really tight. Mine were loose curls! Then we started on the makeup, it felt like a girls high school bathroom at lunch, because there were so many of us just there in front of the mirrors. Finally it was 7:20 and we were all ready to go! When we got there we saw all the boys in there tuxedos, they all looked so handsome. I was kinda nervous because even though we asked them, I feel like I have been paired up by a contest and I have never even saw them before.

~Lesley's POV~

I really didn't feel good before the dance started, but I didn't want to tell someone. While I was slow dancing with Riley I felt like I was going to through up, so I ran so fast I think it was the fastest time I ran in my life. When I got to the bathroom I swear to god I threw up a thousand times before someone came in. It was Alicia. She asked what was going on and asked why I wasn't out there partying, but I guess she knows now why I am in here. She told me that Riley was looking for me and that I should take a advil and lay down for a while and I will tell Riley where you are gone. I politely said yes and left to go to my room.

~Alicia's POV~

When I went back into the dance, nobody was dancing. Everybody was sitting, I asked what was going on and they said that they are going to end the dance now because they don't want two people left out. So we all left and went back to our rooms, to get some sleep.
