Ch 3: What Is This?

I woke up in a bright room causing my eyes to squint. It took me a few seconds to adjust my eyesight trying to take in my surrounding. 

"Where am I?" My voice was rough and hoarse.

'I need some water.' I thought as I rubbed my throat. I saw the IV on my arm and realized I was at the hospital. As I continued to scan the room I saw my mom and best friend walk in to the room.

"Hana! You're awake!" They both sighed with relief.

"We were so worried about you when you never came back from hiking. How did you even fall and hurt yourself?" Joy asked.

'Oh yeah, that's right. I was hiking when suddenly I time traveled again...' I thought to myself.

"I'm not sure...I don't really remember." I lied. 

"How could you have gotten off trail, Hana. You should no better than to wonder off." My mom said with worry and slight anger. 

"Luckily the rangers were able to find you with the rescue dogs." She added.

"I'm sorry mom...but I am okay now. See?" I said with a half smile as I lifted both hands in hopes to lighten the mood.

"Tch. Why did my only daughter have to be such a thrill seeker.." She responded looking away from me.

After being discharged from the hospital, I sat in my room thinking about the recent past events. It had been a while since I last time traveled, maybe like 6 months? I have been time traveling since I was 6 years old. The first time it happened I was to young to realize what was going on, especially since I couldn't tell the difference between the present and the past. All I knew at that time was that everyone I knew suddenly disappeared, It was really scary. I tried telling my mom what happened to me but she thought it was my imagination and every time I tried to mention it after that she gave me a bad look. I talked a lot about it back then and people started to think I was crazy, I guess that's why my mom never wanted to listen to me or hear what I had to say since it embarrassed her. 

Anyways, now I have learned how to cope with it. Time traveling can be pretty fun since I can go back in the past and see how things used to be but most of the time it's really scary; I never know what time period I might end  up in. That's why I am majoring in History, with a minor in Korean history, It has really helped me. 

After thinking to myself, I got up and started to get ready for school. Man I hate Monday's. 

'Luckily I only have one class today. I'm so exhausted.' I thought. 

As I took off my shirt, my hand brushed up my neck causing me too wince. I leaned in towards the mirror to take a look and saw to small dots parallel to each other.  

"What the... Ouch!" I yelped as I grazed my fingers over the bite. The area surrounding the bite was a little hot and swollen. I put on some ointment shrugging it off assuming it was only a spider bite and headed out to school.

"Hana!" I heard someone call out to me. It was Joy. 

"Hey Joy." I said with a smile.

"You only had one day to rest, are you feeling better?" She asked.

"Strong as a horse!" I said as I lifted my arm to show off my "muscles."

We continued to laugh and chit chat when we heard some girls giggling when they walked past us. They headed towards a some guys who were sitting on a bench. The girls handed them some gifts and the ash brown haired guy accepted it with a smile causing his eyes to form into two half moons. 

'Wow. They are really handsome.' I thought to myself.

I couldn't take my eyes off of them when suddenly one of them turned towards my direction and our eyes made contact. He swiftly got up and started to walk towards us.

"Omg. I think he is coming this way!" Joy said under her breath. 

He swiftly walked towards us but didn't stop. Before passing us up he tilted his head in my direction and said, "See you around." His eyes wandered down to my neck as he smirked at the sight of it and walked away.

"Oh. My. Gosh. Did he just talk to us!?" Joy said excitedly. 

"See you around." Joy said as she tried to mimic his melting voice. Still in shock about what just happened. 

"Do you know him?" I asked Joy.

"No. But I have seen him and his friends around from time to time. They are all so good looking and all the girls go gaga over them. He is the one that flirts back the most though."

"But I think he was referring to you just now." She added.

"Me? Why? I have never seen the guy on campus before..."

"I don't know but let me know if you ever see him again~" She said.

"I doubt I ever will. I'm sure it was just a mistake..."
