Ratliff's POV

Rydel smiled at me and hugged me.

Her hug was really warm.

I hugged her back feeling comfortable.

"Ell... Can I talk with you alone?" Rydel asked as she grabbed my hand and walked inside the house.

"So... Umm... What did you want to talk about...?" I asked.

"I... I have a feeling that... You... Um..." She barely spoke.

"What...?"

"After you broke up with Kelly... You've been more close to me than you were... Do you..."

"Rydel... Are you assuming I like you?"

"Um..."

"Rydel, you know I treat you like my sister that I never had... I can never treat you like a girlfriend... That would be really awkward and weird..."

"Oh... That's good... Cuz... It scared me... I thought... I thought you liked me phew"

Rydel's POV

"Rydel, you know I treat you like my sister that I never had... I can never treat you like a girlfriend... That would be really awkward and weird..." Those were the words that came out of Ellington's mouth that brought me down.

Dying.

"Oh... That's good... Cuz... It scared me... I thought... I thought you liked me phew" I lied to him, I couldn't possibly believe I, me, Rydel Mary Lynch, just said that.

What no why the heck did i say that. Did I eat some sort of stupid meal or something today?

Gosh how do I fix this ignorance? I should've told him 'how could it be weird? I mean like we've known each other for so long now' ugh this was a bad decision.

"So... Why did u plan that...? Was it supposed to be a prank or something...? Was there um... More to it?" Ellington randomly asked.

What do I say?

"Yea... I was supposed to act all romanticish then push you in the pool for making me stay up so late" thats all I could come up with. Really Rydel? Really.

"Oh haha my bad" he said laughing, awe his laugh. It's adorable.
