Riker thought he needed a change in his life to add more spontaneity in it with new experiences and memories. What better way to do that then by letting one of his dreams of being a father come true by adopting a child so he can bring them on tour and enjoy life with them. With his parents and siblings approval that's just what he does.

When Rydel goes missing for a year Ellington starts to worry. Rydel cries all night without being able to wake up. Only a act of true love can fix it all...... But what if she can't find true love? It was just supposed to make me a few friends. That's all mom had planned to do. How could she have known that I'd meet him ,or that his family would actually like having me around. Definitely not me. Then again I'm not sure anyone expects this type of this to happen. It's not your everyday situation for sure. All I know is it won't change me like everyone else. Ellie goes on tour with R5 as their opening act and assistant to her dad, who is their sound engineer. She has always had feelings for Ross, but he has always been oblivious to it even when she is very obvious about it. However, Ellie has also been oblivious towards someone else's feelings towards her while on tour. This creates more drama than anticipated during R5's latest tour.
