Prelude To school

"Okay!" I say determined

I close my door passing James room and the bathroom heading downstairs

Just then I see my mothers face brighten up, and I see that huge grin that covers half my dads face and brings out his chin dentures.

"Good morning care bear!" dad says prompting me to sit on the chair next to him
Just then we hear a knock at the door
Knock! Knock!
Who is it ? I wonder. We just moved to this neighborhood about a week ago
Dad gets out the chair to open the door with mom following behind

James comes from up the stairs "who's that"

"How am I supposed to know?" I remark shrugging my shoulders
"Why you look a certain spiffy today"
"Of course I HAVE to look good for the first day"
"Is that so"
"It certainly is!"
"Well whatever you say"

"CAROLINE!!"
Woah! My heart just skipped a beat
"Yes?" I reply
"Come here please!" Dad imply's

I see Mom at the door smiling and talking to some woman. I go to see who it is at the front door.

I see a woman standing with something wrapped in cloth with a ribbon tied on top. Standing next to her is a little boy about my brothers age 11.

Just then I see something swiftly move behind the woman. It's a girl looks same age as me,
The first thing I notice is how pretty she is.

Her brown caramel skin, wavy black brown hair, dark brown eyes, and... and yellow strap dress covered in orange sunflowers.
She seemed embarrassed to be wearing it,
she was standing beside her mother quietly, her arms behind her back fiddling with her fingers, and sweeping her leg back and forth.

"HI! We know your new in town around the neighborhood so we..."

She unwraps the bow ribbon and takes the cloth off.

"We baked a yummy vanilla cake as a house warming!"
She talked very proper and a certain soothe in her voice, very pleasant and charismatic.

"ThankYou!" Mom says ecstatic
She scurry's to the kitchen
"We would let you stay over but we're still unpacking as of now but thank you so much" Dad says

"No no it's Ok!"

Just then I spot the school logo on the little boy then I shift my eyes and see it on the  girl also.

"Are you going to Minoy Middle Magnet School" I announce

"Yeah!"The little boy responds
"Yes they are,  we were on our way too! This is max and this is Marie" she explains "say..."

James then bolts to the door
"Hi max!" Want to be friends?!"
"Manners! James! And what did I tell you about eavesdropping?" Dad exclaims

"Well anyways we're off" the woman says "oh and my name is Aaliyah" the woman states
"See you at school" max shoots off to James before his mother grabs his hand "MOM!"
"Max stop whining your a big boy now, your in middle school now" she says while leaving.
