Chapter 12

Nathaniel's POV:

I try and contain the deep growl threatening to make an appearance. If it does we'll be caught. I can't risk that. I need to know why the rouge responsible for my father's "death" is suddenly here. Why was he talking with him and Summer? I can't help but feel a pang of hurt as I realize my mate had been lying to me. I'm still trying to figure out what is going on around me.

I keep zoning in and out of their conversation only allowing myself to do so because Melissa and Lucy are here. I trust both of them to keep this information well gathered.

"He wants me to bring you back. All of you. If you don't he has threatened a war." Spoke the rouge gruffly.

War. That one word that I oh so dearly despised. So much loss just because of a certain pride or stubbornness.

Who was this rouge? Just looking at him and listening to the words coming out of everyone in the group is enough to have me battling with my wolf over control. I need to calm down before I make any rash decision.

Motioning for Melissa and Lucinda to follow me with a quick motion, we all quickly receded back towards the lake. Once we got there I couldn't help but to let out the threatening growl that had been held inside all this time and begin walking back and forth.

Lucinda was right. We need to continue to keep an eye on him. I don't trust him at all. I should have payed more attention at his return. I had payed more attention to Summer than doing my job. I should have been a lot more observant but instead I was ogling my mate.

"We need to figure what it is that we are going to do about this." Speaks Melissa from my side.

"You're right. We need to keep a closer eye o each one of them and report all information to aunt Scout. She should know what to do." Recommends Lucy.

"I agree. For now though I think Lucy you should try and keep an eye on Jordan, Melissa you on Summer, and I on Lucian. Anything we find we immediately report to Scout. Does that sound good?"

"Yeah."

"So I really have to try and pretend i'm all happy about having that guy Jordan around?"

"Lucy you got that attitude from Mom. Tone it down a bit. Yes you're going to have to I don;t think you like Summer at all and it would look natural for you to keep a eye him since you're around the same age. It would look odd if either Melissa or I tried don't you think?" I quickly reply with a roll of my hazel eyes.

"Yeah yeah I get the point."

"Good."

"Now, let's go inform aunt Scout of what's happening. From there we can all split up and look for whoever you got assigned. Is that clear?"

"Crystal." States Lucy with a roll of her eyes to match my own in an attempt to make fun of me which only serves to make me glare at her playfully.

"Alright let's head out."

"Okay so you guys know what to do right?" asks Scout.

"Yeah, I distract Lucian, Melissa distracts Summer, and Lucinda distracts Jordan. We got it."

"Nathaniel you have the greatest priority. Lucian would be considered the most important person necessary to be watched. When you are not watching him I will. If you have any difficulties, any of you, contact me immediately. No word of this goes out to anyone understood?" she speaks up.

"Got it." We all nod.

"Good."

"Any questions?"
