~weeks later~

Jon's POV

"Jon? Jon!" Thomas snaps his fingers in front of my eye to get my attention. I had zoned out. We're both sitting on the couch watching TV, well more like occasionally looking up at it.

"Huh? Yeah?" I ask, my attention back to Thomas.

"You ok, babe?"

"Yeah. Yeah I'm good."
It's been a few weeks since I was released from the hospital, put I still have to go back once a month for check-ups. "What were you saying?"

"I was wondering if you wanted to go to park today?"

"The park? Like the public park? With people?" I ask anxiously.

"Yes, the public park. You haven't been outside much." He answers as if he has no idea why.

"I wonder why." I reply sarcastically.

"Jon, you're a YouTube star, people know what you look like. You can't avoid people forever. I mean you don't look that different. Nothing happened to your beautiful face. Your burns are your beautiful battle scars. And the wheelchair is only temporary. Besides, everyone here has seen the news and they aren't going to judge you because they know what happened."

"You forgot the fact that I'm half blind. And them knowing what happened to me is part of the reason I don't want to go. They're all gonna give me that sorry look. YouTube is different, those people are my fans, they like me for me or for my music or videos."

"Please, Jon. Just try, please."

"Fine." I grumble, "Only because I love you."

"Love you, too, babe." He says with a victorious smile.

"So you gonna help me get dressed or what?" Another thing that sucks about this. I love Thomas and everything, but getting dressed is just something, I prefer to do alone. As well as getting in and out of the bathtub, which is embarrassing. And other things too. I can't wait until at least one of my legs heals. Preferably my left leg because if my right leg heals first, I still gotta wait on my foot.

"So as much as I love being here babe, I have to get back to school. I just don't know how I'll get there. I am not, taking a plane." I say as Thomas pushes my chair down a trail at the park.

"Yeah I know you do, but what about the simple things that you can't do anymore?"

"Good point. I mean as much as I hate you having to dress me and all that, it's not like I can do it on my own. And I'm definitely not gonna let my roommate, Carl, do it."

"What if you took your classes online?"

"I guess that could work." I agree.

A group of people walk past us, and a girl in the group, drops a five dollar bill in my lap.

"Um, excuse me? Miss? You dropped this." I say holding out the 5.

"No I didn't. I saw you on the news. It's for you." She answers sympathetically, I couldn't see her face, cause she was already too far to my left.

"Excuse me?" I hear a young voice say. I look around and see a cute little girl pulling on my right pant leg. "Why does your eye look so funny?" She asks so sweetly, I couldn't help but smile. She's doesn't know what happened, she's just curious.

"Well, I bumped my head and now I can't see good out of this eye." I saying enthusiastically, to sound harmless.

"Emma! Thank God, I thought something happened to you sweetie." I hear someone exclaim, I look up to see a man, who looked like he was around my age, rushing towards us.
