"You and Scorpius better not get any ideas this year. We dont want you playing with time-turners again!" Albus' dad, Harry Potter, said to him, seriousness in his eyes.
"Don't worry, Dad, I wont." Albus laughed slighty.
"You have your OWLs this year, dont get in trouble again, i mean it." Harry said firmly.
Ginny Potter, Albus' mom, overheard, "Oh come on, Harry, just let him have a good year."
Harry turned to her, worry clearly showing. "I know, I just hope he doesn't jump off the train again this year..." He said, letting amusment show in his eyes.
Albus quietly stood, listening. He hated when his parents talked about him when he was near.
"Alright, have a good year Albus." Harry said cheerfully, turning to him. Albus rolled his eyes and hugged his father. At least after last year, Albus and his father didn't hate each other as much. Of course, Harry never hated his son, but a they never had a close bond. Albus, on the other hand, hated his father the previous year.
Albus was relieved once Harry let go. The little, 'Bye bye. We'll miss you!' parents did sickened him. Honestly, it was only a year, Albus thought. He turned and hugged his mother silently. He didn't mind her as much. She didn't tell stories about her greatness and her 'Harry Potter-ness' like Albus' father did.
"Bye, mom."
Albus let go, and walked over to his siblings and cousins. He heard his father, as Albus carried his trunk, saying "What? You got a 'bye', but I didn't?" with amusement.
Albus pretended not to hear him, and stood next to Rose.
"Hey." He mumbled.
"Hi Albus. Going to see that Scorpius guy again?" She answered, with slight disgust in her voice.
They got onto the train, and Albus searched for the compartment which Scorpius would be in.
"Yeah, I'm going to see my best friend." He answered, a bit surprised with how aggressive replied. Why did he say 'my best friend' so defensively? Was he jealous of Rose? Why would he be jealous of Rose? Rose was annoying, and Albus had Scorpius. Had Scorpius, like Scorpius is his? Albus didn't own Scorpius, he was just his best friend.
"Ok, whatever you say." Rose said awkwardly, before disapearing to go find her friends.
Albus cringed at what he was thinking and laughed quietely at himself. As Albus continued down the train, a compartment door opened, and someone pulled him inside.
"Albus! Sorry, for grabbing you. I mean, you took so long, well it wasn't that long, but-" Scorpius spoke quickly.
"Miss me or something?" Albus laughed, hugging him back.
That was something Albus always looked forward to. Hugs. Well, more specifically, hugging Scorpius. Everytime he got on the Hogwarts Express, Albus knew Scorpius would greet him warmly. Scorpius always knew how to cheer him up, no matter what. Everytime Albus saw-
He realized his thoughts were trailing off again, and stopped.
"Did you miss me or something?" Scorpius laughed softly, and Albus remembered he was still holding onto Scorpius. He let go, and mumbled "Y-Yeah...".
Albus sat down and, to Albus' suprise, Scorpius seated himself next to Albus instead of across from him. This only made Albus' face grow redder.
"So, how was your summer?" Scorpius asked casually. Did Scorpius not notice how utterly embarresed Albus was?
"Well, actually pretty ok..." He mumbled.
"Mine was nice." And Scorpius continued on about his summer holidays. All Albus could think about was how much he loved Scorpius. Albus over thought things too much, but this he didn't have to think about, he just did it suddenly.
"Woah. Ok. Um...?" Scorpius said, shocked.
Albus found himself in Scorpius' arms. Scorpius may have been surprised, but he too didn't think about it, and wrapped his arms around Albus. A very awkward situation, indeed, for both of them, but no one spoke.
Albus' thoughts raced. Oh no, what have i done? I'm hugging Scorpius. That's not something friends do. Well, friends can hug, but we're both guys. We aren't just hugging though. Scorpius must be so confused. He doesn't like boys. I mean, he likes Rose, right? I shouldn't have just hugged him!
Scorpius sat on the seat, leaning against the wall of the train. He had his arms around Albus, who was sitting practiclly in his lap. Both of their hearts raced insanely quickly. Neither of them knew what to do.
Albus knew he wanted to be with Scorpius, but what would his father think? His older brother, James? The other Slytherins? His sister, Lily? More importantly, what would all the bullies think? They already had enough reasons to make fun of him. Them knowing he's gay would just be another thing everyone laughs about.
Scorpius held onto Albus, who was panicking. Scorpius had an idea to stop Albus from worrying.
"I love you." He whispered softly in his ear.
Albus' heart nearly shattered.
