They always said that you should keep to the tracks , come back early and listen for the signs. To most, that's not a problem but to us, curiosity takes over and the desire to gallop through the woods on our beautiful steads is great and unavoidable.
My name is meabh, meb for short , and Beth is my cousin , we share the same desires, the same dreams and thoughts. If were not riding along the undergrowth paths, or climbing trees by the flowing Welsh rivers , were up to trouble or most likely ranting about our school lives.
We make our way up to the great oak in the garden, it's surrounded by green bushes and long grass . It's usually covered by poppies and Chrysanthimum but as we head into the bitter autumn cold, they slowly die away and leaves begin to fall from the trees mighty branches. The leaves haven't fallen yet but they have changed to the most outstanding red."how am I supposed to know that the darn horse was yours? It's like you own all of them but mine!" I began to question her place in the farm
"Mabey if you paid more attention to me you would of noticed that I've moved my 3 horses to the far field and yours to the left of it, it's not like I haven't told you this already meabh!"she laughes as she rolls around the branch clutching her stomach as she pictures my being kicked again by her horse. "It looks like mine! How was I supposed to know not to go and fetch it!?" I fold my arms while Beth still snorts away on the branch opposite me."ok,ok I'm sorry , ill tell you an extra 10 times next time I move them" she's still grinning at the sight of my annoyed look and my serious expressions. Through the array of laughs and giggles, we turn sharply towards the woods as I hear a distant howl,"There hasn't been wolves in these woods for 60 years"...
