Adalynn POV
I was standing at the corner of 74th and Broadway on my small island home I like to call Manhattan at 3 o'clock. I guess you could say that Manhattan isn't exactly the smallest island, but whatever. Some sexy, dark haired hottie had just rounded the corner and was closing the distance between us on the sidewalk. Yes, I did know exactly who he was, but I can have my fantasies, can't I? I caught a quick look at his plump, almost juicy lips and mysterious, thinking, sparkling hazel eyes. He was exactly the kind of guy I wanted, intelligent, mysterious and the always thinking type. Not cocky at all. You may be guessing about how old I am, but you're wrong. I am not above the age of 15. Or as a matter of fact, 14. Nope, I am only 13 years old, but I already know what love is. People always say that I don't know what love is because I'm too young. I always say that if I didn't know what love was then there would be no way for me to love my family. I have been drawn to this guy for a while, but I didn't know how he felt about me. We were best friends. Best friends until that faithful, or should I say more or less unfaithful day. It all started when he himself was trying to figure out who it was that I liked. His friend Matthew had guessed his name without realizing that he was right there. In shock I ran. Later that night, I got a text from him saying he loved me back. Loved me. Not liked, loved. Overjoyed, I couldn't wait for our first date that Saturday. Now we get to present day when the whole shebang goes down.
