      CHAPTER 4 WHAT I MISSED

        NATHAN'S POV

  god shes been asleep for 2 weeks.and let me tell you i've seen better weeks.i've only known this girl for about 10 hours and i would already give my life to save hers.i was sitting by her bed in the hospital when my father came in.he put his hand on my shoulder."you should go home and get some rest."he said.i shook my head no and picked up her hand."son i know you don't want to leave,and i know you want to be here when she wakes up but your gonna put her in another coma when she gets a whiff of you."he said trying to ease the tension.i looked at him and sighed."ok.i'll go home and take a shower.then i'm coming right back.15 minutes tops.ok?"i told him.i stood up and he took my place beside her.he took her hand i realized that he was just as upset about this as i was well almost.

  i went home took a shower and had a bite to eat.hugged mom and tia and ran back out the door.as a walked into Della's room the doctor had just left."good news son.shes snoring."he told me."i'm confused what does her snoring have to do with anything?"i asked.he smiled and placed a hand on my shoulder."it means shes asleep and not in a coma.she can wake up when shes not tired."he said.i let a smile spread across my face.she was gonna wake up.that just made my day.i was gonna see my mates beautiful brown eyes that i missed so much.i barely know her and i would already throw myself in front of a speeding bus if it meant that she would be alive and well.but if i did my job as her mate she wouldn't have been in a coma in the first place.god i'm a horrible mate!she started to stir i rubbed her hand and kissed it gently.she stopped stirring and started to snore again.they weren't loud and noisy.but soft and cute.she turned over and was now facing me.i smiled and kissed her forehead and sat back down in my chair."son i'll be right back i need to talk to the doctor."he said and left the room.i turned back in just enough time to see Della shut her eyes quickly.i smirked.'awwww.she thinks i didn't see.'i told myself.my tiger Axel snickered in my head.she was so cute when she thought she was fooling me.you could so tell shes awake.just by looking at her.i kissed her head and she smiled.and that just proved my point."i know your awake Della."i told her.she opened her eyes and sat up.i got up off the chair and rapped my arms around her.she hugged me back and started to cry.i shushed her and held her tight.i held her tell she was down to a whimper."its ok.i will never let him hurt you again.i'm so sorry he got you at all.i wasn't doing my job in being your mate.i'm so sorry."she looked up at me and touched my cheek.she looked into my eyes and kissed my lips."this wasn't your fault.i shouldn't have left their clan and no one would have been hurt in the first place.its my fault.i never should have left.its all my fault."she said starting to cry again.that made me angry.'she blames herself for the attack.she left to stop the abuse.i don't blame her for leaving or for the attack.'i said to myself.Axel growled.i leaned over to her and touched my forehead to hers."do not blame yourself for this.this is not your fault.they attacked us.not you.you left because they hurt you.i won't let anyone hurt you as long as i am still alive.i will protect you from everyone and everything."i told her.i hugged her even tighter and then let go cause my sister wanted to see her.i could feel her getting restless on the other side of the door."it's ok Tia you can come in now.shes awake now."i told her.and no sooner had the words come out of my mouth that Tia was on my bed and hugging Della for dear life.Della looked relived and hugged her back."i'm so happy your ok Della.i missed you.the big lion scared me."she kept talking forever.but i was happy that she liked Della.and Della looked happy.that made me over joyed that she liked Tia."of course i like tia shes a sweet heart and is so cute."she said.i hadn't noticed that Tia was gone.i was shocked.'did she just answer me?'i asked myself."yes of course i did you were talking to me weren't you?"she asked.i shook my head no and stared at her.i knew what was happening,that was mate distact.it happens when you don't claim your mate.you start to hear your mates thoughts.but i thought that was only if your mate was a werecat."can you hear my thoughts to."she asked.i nodded my head and stood from the bed.she smiled at me i smiled her smile.the smile quickly turned to a blush.but faded as she touched my stomach and traced the scar that was now across it.i frowned and pulled her head so she had to look at me."i promise everything will be ok.i will never let anyone hurt you again."i told her.she smiled at me weakly and layed her head down on her pillow.

   DELLA'S POV

  Nathan fell asleep on the chair a few minutes ago and was snoring.i traced the new scar and began to cry.'i didn't ask for this scar.or to be attacked,but in a way i did ask to be loved and cared for.how long have i been out?'i asked myself"you've been out for 2 weeks."Nathan said sleepilyi widened my eyes in shock and shouted"2 WEEKS!?!"
