The train was bustling with noise, except for one train car. Four girls sat in silence, all feeling awkward around each other. A platinum blonde girl looked each girl and her familiars up and down with her pale blue eyes. The girl sitting next to her had wavy blonde hair and blue eyes, a black cat sitting in her lap, his green eyes mischievous. The girl directly across from her was a brunette with medium length hair and bangs, brown eyes and a barn owl. Next to her sat a girl with long ginger hair, green eyes and a calico cat.
The platinum blonde scratched the head of the otter in her lap. Curiously looking over, the brunette began to speak. "We're only allowed to bring cats, owls, or toads, and that" she pointed to the otter. "Looks like a weasel." The platinum blonde clenched her fists.
"First of all he's an otter," she corrected. "And second of all I have permission to bring him to Hogwarts. I named him Finn." the ginger to inspect him closer.
"He's so cute!" she squealed. "Can I pet him?" The platinum blonde smiled. She was so glad someone was interested in and not criticising her otter.
"Sure, he won't bite. Hopefully." Both girls laughed as the brunette began to chuckle. Finn rubbed his head against the girl's palm, curling around and around until he was laying on his back. "He sure does like you." She pointed out as the ginger scratched his cream-colored underbelly.
"Yeah. I take care of all our animals at home." she told her "My cat, Minerva, loves me. I've only had a few days but even Luna gets along with her." A ball of blue-gray, cream and white fur laid on the red seat across the way.
"She's always been good with animals," the brunette put in. "She's my sister. Luna and Crookshanks both love her." The girl looked surprised and she introduced herself. "Lucy Weasley," she said. "Daughter of Ron and Hermione Weasley. This is my owl, Luna." A sleeping owl rested on a perch, it's creamy brown and white feathers mingling.
"Amber Weasley," the ginger said. "You already have seen my cat Minerva." The cat was still sleeping.
"My mother's name is Luna and the Headmistress is Minerva McGonagall," The platinum haired girl told them. "McKenna Lovegood. I took my mother's last name not my father's. You've already met Finn." McKenna gave Lucy a cold glare, who shrank back. She finished what she was saying. "Daughter of Luna Lovegood and Neville Longbottom." The blonde busted out laughing .
"I'm sorry, you said your father was Neville Longbottom?' She laughed. McKenna's face went red with fury.
"Yes, what's wrong with that?" she growled.
"Your father was Neville Longbottom! My father said he was one of the clumsiest students in his year," the brunette put in a comment which made Amber look sick.
"Let me guess, you're a Potter," both Amber and the blonde looked sick.
"US? Cousins with her? Are you mad?" Amber cried unable to contain herself.
"Heavens no. Hanna Malfoy. Pureblood Slytherin hopefully," she bragged. "Daughter of Draco and Madison Malfoy. My cat, Shadow, was given to me by my father?"
Lucy and McKenna rolled their eyes. "Must you be so much like your father?" McKenna said, annoyed. Every muscle on Hanna's body tensed and her face went bright red.
"How dare you insult my father?!" she yelled, unable to contain her rage.
"Stop!" Amber shouted as the animals began to wake up. "You'll alert the rest of the train that something is going on." They stopped, but Hannah still stared at McKenna with full hatred.
"Malfoys, honestly..." McKenna grumbled. Amber shot her a look that made her instantly stop.
"Were almost at the school," Lucy pointed out. "What houses do you all want to be sorted into?"
"Ravenclaw!" McKenna said confidently. "My mother was in Ravenclaw. I want to make her proud." The Weasley twins only shrugged and Hannah had already said what house she wanted to be in.
The castle-like school came into view and many first-years were gasping in awe at how big it was. "Everyone may now grab their things and depart from the train," the conductor notified them. "We have now arrived at Hogwarts."
