Life and Death sat beside a pond in the middle of the forest, talking and watching the beautiful, natural sene. A small group of birds flew overhead, but one bird in particular caught their attention. It was flying much to close to the trees. The birds wing scraped against a branch, breaking the wing, and sending the bird plummeting to the ground, landing directly in front of life.
She gentally picks up the bird. Life then says to death, "Death, why is it that the living things love me so, but not you?"
Death responds to this with, "Because, my dear Life, you are a beautiful lie." And as Death gently takes the bird out of life's hands, his touch removing the creatures soul from its body, leaving it dead, he continues by saying, "And I am a painful truth."
