I ended up sleeping in. 13 hours I think. I start to panic, thinking I have school in the morning, but then I realize it's winter break. I go from panicked to relieved in a matter of seconds, thankful that I wouldn't be late for anything. I'm a little disappointed that I won't be able to see my friends in person, but at least I get to video call. I get out of bed and go to take a shower to wash the sweat off from a few hours ago.

once I'm done, I go downstairs to get some breakfast. everyone already ate, so I end up eating cereal on the couch and getting leftover bacon from said breakfast. I kinda wish there was more leftovers, but that's what I get for sleeping in I guess. there's never anything good on t.v., or maybe there's never anything good when I wanna watch, considering how I always see my family enjoying a good movie or show. I shrug it off, maybe I just don't know any good channels. I hear a knock at the door, and perk up. I walk to the door and open it.

"uh, hi, are you Elizabeth Arkon?" "just call me Eli." "so you are?" "oh uh yeah." The stranger at the door asked me a few questions, in which I annoyingly answered.

"what school do you go to?" "The school that my friends are in." "what school are your friends in?" "The school I go to" in the end they just gave up.

they asked where my parents were but stopped herself and asked to just see my parents. I called my mom, and in a matter of seconds the stranger was barely breathing because of the bear hug my mom gave them. it seemed like they've known each other for a long time, even though I've never seen this person. I got a little jealous, considering my friendships have only been going on for 8 years or so. they began to talk about a ton of stuff and different things they've been doing. My dad was slowly going down the stairs to see what the commotion was all about when suddenly his eyes widened and his mouth hung open. "jenna?!" he scurried the rest of the way down the stairs and gave "jenna" a hug.

dad excitedly invited jenna in and he and mom started running to the living room. before jenna started to follow them, she gave me a weird, almost disgusted and angry look. now that I think of it, she's been giving me that same look since I opened the door.

ugh I had to rewrite the other half of this chapter and I barely remembered what I wrote so idk if this version is better or worse. also I feel like if I want two have this book update regularly, I have to make them short like this one. they're not fillers, promise.
