Why me?

Coby's P.O.V

i was now sitting in a new hospital room that is confidential to only my doctor,the police,spiderman and the man who saved me,who happens to be a reporter.

"did you know the woman?" the officer asked me "no" i replied staring at my hands that where resting on my lap,"did she say anything meaningful to you?" "no",the officer sighed turning to the reporter "thank you for all the help mr Parker" he said shaking his hand "please call me Peter,and it was no trouble",they spoke a little more until the officer had to leave.

there was silence between the twoof us,he opened his mouth to say something and i looked at him,before he could even utter a word the door opened.

Peter's P.O.V

i looked at the door anoyed,and i saw nonr other than the child services people with the doctor.

"Coby,we have good news and bad news" the woman stated with a large smile "the good news is that you don't have to jump home to home anymore,the bad news is you have to pack your bags,your going to an offanage in detroit" the women even had the audacity to clap,still smiling.

i saw Coby had tenced up and looked at her feet,"actually..."i said gaining the attension of everyone in the room,nerves set in as i continued "i was hoping i could talk to you about adopting Coby" they all had a look of shock on their faces and Coby's mouth looked like it would fall off if it was opened any wider.

"What?" the child services woman asked in disbeleif "this is a joke,right?" the man with her said with a fake laugh afterward."no,im serious.i would gladly adopt Coby"i said uite angry at their reaction really.

the woman looked at Coby "well?..." Coby was still looking at me dumbfoundedopening and closing her mouth like a fish."Coby!"the man yelled gaining her attension,"Well,what do you say to this?" she looked at him then me,then back at him."uhm..." she looked really shocked and confused "see she doesnt want to go with you she'll be better off at an orphanage" this guy was starting to piss me off.

Coby froze up at his statement "no..i mean,i wouldn't mind seeing what it would be like..." she went quiet towards the end of her sentence.the two looked annoyed,and the man was about to comment but the woman bet him to it "fine,but if it doesnt work out,your going straight to the orphanage no arguments,got it?" Coby nodded her head and at that they left without so much as a 'goodbye'.
