It was... about three o'clock pm when me and my family saw the army men rolling into town. I was wondering why there were army men anyway. I always wondered why our town was so strange but after I saw the army men, I wondered what was going on.
Mother yelled "stay in the house and away from the windows!" I followed her stern directions and got out of the foyer. I ran into the kitchen were father was. He was cooking some deer in the cob oven when I asked him "father what is going on out side." Father shook his head." A war, I can tell it is a dangerous one, Hannah." I frowned. I was very scared. Right then John, my older brother, stormed into the room.
Father said "You look like you are in a bad mood son?" John looked at him with a grin. He stomped his left foot and said "I hate Camren!" Father shook his head again. "You take that back right now son," said father. John turned around and left the room. Father kept cooking and I left and went up stairs to my room. I picked up my hair brush and started to brush my thick, long, black hair. I heard my mother and my father yelling and cursing down stairs.
I looked out my window and saw two of the men walking up our driveway. When I saw the men I closed and locked the shutters. I locked my bedroom door and hid in my closet. I heard the door open to my front door. Then I heard screams coming from the foyer. The screams came from my mother. I stayed put.
