it was nearing one thirty am as i quietly closed the door to my shabby house. it wasn't a welcome sight–but it was, sadly, the normal sight.
the little old tattered couch in the middle of the room. it had stains of glory, and a bloody fight.
the wooden floors had nails popping to whole chunks missing. a cold breeze flowed through the huge cracks in the windows glass.
she was no where to be seen, then again she never is home.
i do so much for her, and what do i get in return? an aching back and endless nights with no sleep.
i sighed and pulled my blankets out of my little box in the corner. they weren't much but they kept me semi warm from the little bit of a draft coming from outside.
there was no bed just a blanket and pillow, i gave her the only source of comfort in this house.
as i was drifting off to a wonderland known as sleep a loud banging was on the, already dented, front door.
she's home.
i groggily got up from my little blanket, no time to stretch i headed towards the front door.
i opened the door to see a familiar sad looking women stand in front of me. her sunken in cheeks and hollow eyes thats starred right into my own dark brown ones.
she didn't take much time shuffling past me and into the shabby room. she looked around and then back at me.
she didn't say anything untill she hopped onto her bed, also known as the couch that has been through a lot. she looked over at me who stood blank by the door.
"come sit with me dongsookie" she patted next to her. i hesitated to hobble over to her spot on the couch. i tried to not take up much space and neatly folded my hands in my lap.
"aww come on sookie, why are you so uptight" the reek of alcohol from her breath could be smelt from my position, three feet away.
i loosened my body a bit but my back still stood straight. her breath was bad and i didn't want to get any closer.
after several minutes of her the dreaded question she asked me every night came.
"how much did you make today?" she wanted to know so she knows how much alcohol she can buy the next day, even if i didn't make the wanted amount she still bought alcohol.
"5,386.73 won" i lowered my head. she made a tsking sound. there it was, nothing was quite perfect enough for her.
"ok i guess it's time for bed" i clasped my hands together. she started shouting and protesting like a child.
i pushed her down to the couch and she started to fight back.
"come on, please go to bed it's late" i begged quietly.
"you don't make the rules!" she screamed.
"please mommy go to bed!" i screamed back. she drunkenly rolled her eyes and finally laid down to sleep. i crawled back to my blanket and tried to go back to bed.
