John wandered into where he remembered the skyscrapers where. So many memories with his friend - gone. He wasn't exactly sure why he was walking into the strip, but he thought that there may be a chance that Cosmo was alive. Cosmo was John's best friend, before everything turned bad. He was starting to remember now. The drugs, society's collapse, the bombs. Everything came flooding back, and in an instant were gone again. John weaved through city streets, and found nothing but a couple of nomads making their way through downtown. Out of pure curiosity, John asked one of them if they knew where Harvey Ridge was. Harvey Ridge was John's old neighborhood, where happiness lived - at least before the war. After asking around, one old man claimed he knew where it was. Without doubting the old mans knowledge, John followed him for miles. After what seemed years, John and his guide walked upon a friendly sign, covered with rust. It read, "Welcome to Harvey Ridge, Las Vegas!" The two walked down the winding road that led to the neighborhood itself. The old man did not speak a word, but walked completely silent as town houses appeared on the horizon. "Here we are, Harvey Ridge," muttered the old man, and without another word, turned around and walked towards the strip.
It really was his neighborhood. He walked down the main road, glancing at mailbox numbers, trying to find his old home. Cosmo's house was right next door. There was still hope. [TO BE CONTINUED]
