Ella jumped awake, her eyes instantly landing on the geode. The smoke whirled at the back of her mind and she began to cough. She walked into the bathroom to get a drink, and there was an eerie blue glow. She ignored it and slowly nursed a glass of cold, clear water. She wondered what type of dream that was, since it wasn't a violent or suicidal one showing her what her favorite victim of the day was doing. She pondered the idea that Lindsey was a sorceress from another world, and as she shook the idea from her mind, remembered she hadn't called Miss Angela back. She ventured downstairs and dialed her old friend's number and waited- one, two, three rings, then a busy signal. Ella sighed and hung up. She looked at Spotty, who was eagerly awaitig food by the cuppboard. He looked at her with his big chocolate eyes and cocked his head to the side, emitting a tiny, pitiful whine. Ella sighed, grinning, and retrieved a tiny treat from the shelf. Spotty took the treat and chomped on it noisily. Ella scratched his head and the phone rang. She answered.

"Hello?" she asked.

"Ella honey?" a voice responded.

"Yes...?" Ella let the question hang in the air.

"It's Lindsey, from the antique store you visited earlier this week, love." She said this nonchalantly, as though she hadn't been stalking Ella for the last few days.

"What do you need?" Ella asked her, pretending she didn't know that Lindsey had been following her.

"I'm afriad I gave you the wrong gift," Lindsey said. "Your friend... Angela, yes that's it... said it was small and on her desk, so I gave you the first one I saw. Upon clearing the," here she hesitates, "clutter off of her desk, I discovered the correct present. You can come down any time during open hours to exchange it."

"I suppose I'm free this weekend..." Ella said, letting her voice trail off at the end. Miss Angela did say something about the wrong present; Lindsey must have found it and jumped to conclusions.

"Great! I'll see you soon, then." Lindsey said, all too happily, and hung up the phone.

Ella clicked her phone off and mentally shook herself, relieved that the geode wasn't meant for her.
