"Hello miss?" The man who she assumed was now standing directly in front of her was asking. She didn't want to open her eyes. She had always expected pain when she opened them.
Never again. She turned around. Opening her eyes as she swiveled around. The man was now behind her. "I'm so sorry I offended you but I must leave now" she said her voice shaky. A gentle hand brushed her shoulder and she turned frightened. And nearly fell into the busy street. His arm wrapped around her waist quickly and the next thing she knew she was firmly pressed against his torso.
Shock spread across her face as the rain began to pour down from the grey sky. "May I give you a ride?" He yelled out as the rain got louder and thunder rolled in the air. She didn't respond. She didn't do anything except follow him to his car.
It was a red dodge dart Gt. He led her to the front passenger seat and shut the door after her as she was settled in. She heard another door open and close. She looked over and saw it was the man again. His mouth moves but she heard nothing. He stared at her for a long moment then reached out and brushed the back of his hand against her cheek. "Are you alright?" She finally heard him say. She nodded her head gentle and he backed the car out of the space and began to drive away.
