Chapter 3

Narrative POV

The girl rushing toward the manner to get the man his soup. The man slowly made his way toward it as well. He wasn't as energetic as the girl but he made it in time just to see the little girl sit herself down in a chair. The chair she sat at the table was almost a throne to her. But It seems it is since it is the chair was the chair at the head of the table where the 'man' of the house is supposed to sit.

"Do you always sit there?" The man asked at the door way. The startled girl shook her head and giggle.

"Nope! I usually sit all the way over there." The girl pointed down the table. For that is where the little girl was supposed to sit. Ever since the girl's parents left she has been sitting in her father's chair. Occasionally she'll sit in here own and pretend but alas it's never the same.

The table they sat at was shiny and big. The man wondered how one girl could keep everything shiny and clean. Everything around the manor so far looked as if the home was filled with servants. Dirt could only be found if someone moved heavy dressers for the little girl could not move them herself.

"So you live here all by yourself?" The man asked in question as the two sat at the table. The man ate and the girl would swing her legs to and fro.

"Yep." She spoke as she nodded in agreement.

"So what's your name kid?" The child stopped swinging her legs and thought. She had not introduced herself which was weird for her since she was used to it with her family being who they are. She stood and stuck out her hand.

"I am Emilee Warewood first and only daughter of the Warewood manor." The man seemed to be baffled at the straightforwardness of the girl and shook her hand as well.

"I'm Garrett Fare nice to meet you, Emilee." Emilee smiled and spotted that the man had finished his soup. She grabbed the dish and brought it to the kitchen. "So Emilee tell me a bit about yourself?" Garrett asked as she shuffled back to the table. She sat silently for a few moments before sighing and spoke.

"Nothing really to tell. My mother and father left a few years ago promises were made but as you can see broken. We had older maids so they're all dead now. I've kept this place standing. That's all there is to tell. Just me all by myself." Garret smiled and grabbed Emilee's hand.

"Not anymore Emilee. I'm here we can go back to my home. You can stay with me." Emilee raised her head in surprise.

"What?" The child asked in surprise.

"You can come home with me. My wife and me would take care of you. We can all visit here whenever you want. Does that sound like a plan Em?" The girl sat there for a moment before launching out of her chair and into the man's arms. Small tears running down her cheeks nodding her head what seems like a million times.

"That sounds amazing."
