Jimin wiped his clammy palms down the front of his jeans as he sat fidgeting in the school's reception foyer. His head throbbed and he could feel the thumping of his heartbeat in his chest. He swallowed nervously as his eyes darted around the room and stared into the hallway, searching for the only person he already knew. As his eyes brushed over the front desk again, they found who they were looking for. "Taehyung." He said giving a sigh of relief, standing up with a slight wobble.
Tae smiled and laughed as he embraced his cousin. "All set for your first day?" He laughed again at Jimin's lack of response.
"I feel sick." Jimin was looking a little pale. Concerned, Tae pushed him gently back into his seat and sat beside him. "I know transferring during the middle of the year is a bit tough Chim, but there's really nothing to be worried about. This is a great school, and I know you'll do well here. Look, if you have too much trouble making friends, I might introduce you to mine if you're lucky." He gave a slanted smile as Jimin's eyes snapped to his face in alarm. Tae laughed again, his eyes dancing. He had, of course, always planned on keeping his adorable cousin close and introduce him into his friend group. He just couldn't resist teasing him when he'd never seen him so nervous.
When Tae laughed, Jimin knew he'd been joking and said with a hint of irritation, but more confidence than before, "Ha Ha, very funny. And please don't call me Chim. It sounds silly and i want to make a good, cool impression."
"Okay. Chim Chim it is." Tae stood up quickly to avoid being hit.
Their relationship had always been good, despite their parents not getting along, and to be honest, Tae was glad that Jimin had moved close by and transferred to his school. He was even happier to find out they were to be in the same class.
The bell rang, and Jimin's first day as the new guy began.

"So, what do you think of the school so far?" Tae asked Jimin as they were walking casually to the Cafeteria at lunchtime. Jimin shrugged and said that it had been fine so far, but he was getting sick of being asked so many questions. Everyone wanted to talk to the new guy and figure out if they'd be friends or not. So far, everyone was interesting and seemed to like him, though, being Taehyung's cousin certainly helped. Jimin had been surprised at how popular Tae was. It was kind of strange to him since he still looked at Tae as his younger cousin who used to pick his nose and flick it at people. He was, at least, pleased that Tae hadn't changed too much over the years since he'd last seen him. He was still as fun, playful and mischievous as ever.
It wasn't long after they'd sat down at an empty table when 2 guys approached them from behind. One put his hands over Tae's eyes, "Guess who?" Jungkook laughed playfully, then as if seeing Jimin for the first time exclaimed, "Who's this at our table?!" Tae introduced Jimin as the guys sat down.
Jeon Jungkook, who Jimin had met once before at a dinner party at Tae's, was tall, strongly built and handsome. He got along really well with Tae and Jimin could tell they were close. Jungkook was a first year and 2 years younger than them.
The other guy, Min Yoongi, nodded politely as he sat beside Jimin wearing a blank expression which managed to look bored at the same time. A year older than them, he was a 3rd year. He had a slight build and pale skin which was striking against his jet black hair. He too was handsome.
Jungkook and Tae talked about things Jimin didn't know, about people he didn't know and at such a rapid pace it was impossible to interject even if he wanted to. He turned to Yoongi in hope of starting a conversation or enlightenment of the other, but gave up up on the idea almost instantly because he appeared have fallen asleep.
Bored and a little annoyed, Jimin excused himself and left in search of a restroom to be alone with his thoughts for a bit. The search took him outside into the courtyard, and before long, he realised he was lost. It was a large school with many almost identical buildings which surrounded a big courtyard that joined onto a basketball court. A group of guys were playing, and another group of guys were watching and cheering. To the side of the court was an empty bench, a welcome relief to Jimin who realised how exhausted he was upon seeing it.
Sitting, facing away from the game going on, he sighed heavily and closed his eyes. Feeling the warmth of the sun on his back, he thought of taking Yoongi's example and having a quick nap.
Suddenly, there were loud shouts coming from the basketball court, and before he could turn to see what was going on, there was a sharp pain as a basketball smacked into the back of his head and bounced away. Jimin cursed loudly as he rubbed his head and turned around to face the bastard who was to blame for the return of his headache, and a nasty bump that was already forming.
"Oh shit. Are you alright? I'm so sorry." A guy wearing basketball shorts, a white Tshirt which was slightly see through from sweat and a look of guilt and concern, picked up the ball and crouched down in front of him. Sweat made his face glisten and brown hair damp. Jung Hoseok was still panting slightly when he waved a hand in front of Jimin's face, his frown deepening. It was then that Jimin realised he'd been staring. His face flushed and he looked away to hide his embarrassment. Luckily, Hoseok didn't notice because Yoongi jogged over to them and snatched away the ball.
"And this is why I'm the captain of the basketball team, and you're just an idiot." He said with a raised brow.
Hoseok jokingly saluted and said with a hint of laughter in his voice, "Yessir, sorry sir." Yoongi let out an amused grunt before looking at Jimin with a frown. "Are you alright?" He asked earnestly. Jimin nodded that he was. Yoongi hit Hoseok in the arm as he bounced the ball and joined the other guys on the court, taking Hoseok's place.
Hoseok sat next to Jimin and inspected the back of his head. Running a hand through his hair he said, "I should take you to the nurses office." And stood up offering his hand. Jimin nodded again and took the offered hand. As soon as he stood, a wave of dizziness forced him heavily back down. Hoseok's quick reflexes had him reach forward to stop him from falling off the bench.
"Maybe, maybe i should stay here for a while longer." Jimin said wearily closing his eyes. Hoseok stood staring at him for a moment before an idea came to him. Jimin didn't see him reach down or his tilted mischievous smile. He was shocked to feel himself being lifted and then cradled like a child. His protests fell on deaf ears as Hoseok grinned and told him to shut up and be greatful to this kind hearted, handsome Hyung. And Just like that, the new guy was carried to the nurses office like a princes on his first day at a new school.
