Authors note: Sorry for the delay guys! Christmas and new year break has been crazy busy. Just so you all know, this chapter is where JiHope REALLY starts 😲😉
Phone call:
Y: Whadda ya want Hobi?
H: Yoongi, help! Are you free right now?
Y: I might be, why?
H: I need you here
Y: Where? What for?
H: It's a long story, can you come to Jimin's house
Y: That depends on why you're there and what you want me to do.
H: ... It's awkward
Y: And you think my presence will make it LESS awkward?
H: Please Yoongi
Y: *Sighs* At least tell my why you're even at Jimin's first
H: Okay, so I was out for a walk along the river, and i saw this puppy in the water drowning, so I jumped in to help it. When i got onto the riverbank again, BAM there Chim was.
Y: *sarcastic* Such a hero
H: Shut up, can you come over or not?
Y: Ya didn't really explain why you're at his house, but fine, I'll be there soon. Honestly, what would you do without me? *Hangs up*
~~
The atmosphere in the room was awkward. Jimin didn't know what to say to Hoseok and Hoseok had not clue on what to say to Jimin. They sat in silence while Hoseok tried to figure out how he could bring up what had happened with Tae back at school. He wanted to explain that it was a misunderstanding and that he really didn't hate Jimin, but he knew he'd been acting weird and found it hard to figure out the reason why. The truth was, he didn't know.
The puppy had fallen asleep on Jimin's lap while having his head stroked gently by Jimin's gentle touch. In an attempt to get rid of some of the awkwardness, Jimin suggested they listen to some music, and Hoseok, who had enthusiastically agreed, was both excited and surprised when his favourite group 'Big Bang' started playing from Jimin's speakers. Making small talk, Jimin said that he loved Big Bang very much, and was looking forward to their comeback next month. Hoseok agreed, saying he'd been a fanboy and proud VIP for over 2 years.
Silence fell between them again and Hoseok twiddled his thumbs while looking around the room. Finally, the doorbell rang and Hoseok jumped up, announcing that Yoongi must have arrived and that since they shouldn't disturb the puppy, he would answer the door. Peering out the window to make sure it was Yoongi, Hoseok opened the door quickly and flung himself at his friend "Thank God you're here!" He said while fake crying. Yoongi, who'd scrunched up his nose and recoiled from Hoseok's hug, rolled his eyes and pushed his friend away. "Yeah yeah." He said dragging Hoseok inside.
Hoseok lead the way back upstairs toward Jimin's room, but paused at the top. They could hear Jimin singing along to Taeyang's 'eyes nose lips' and it sent a rush of eletric through Hoseok's body. Yoongi, getting impatient with, pushed passed Hoseok and strode over to what he deduced was Jimin's room, yanked open the door and flopped onto Jimin's bed, saying a quick "hey" as he rolled onto his back. Hoseok, regained his composure and sat next to Jimin. The song had finished, and Jimin looked at them, embarrassed at being heard. " G...Good song" he stammered with a nervous laugh. Unable to contain himself, Hoseok blurted out "Your singing voice!" Then followed more quietly with "...Beautiful... erm... y-yeah good song" while blushing profusely. They grew silent again and the awkwardness returned.
Frustrated, Yoongi let out a sharp sigh and clicked his tongue, "Just tell him, Idiot." he said to Hoseok, throwing a slipper at him. Jimin looked at them both, confusion in his eyes. Hoseok threw the slipper back at Yoongi and it his him in the face, making him grunt with laughter, "serves you right." He said under his breath.
"Tell me what?" Jimin asked, a hint of worry creeping into his thoughts. He looked directly at Hoseok who was begging to regret asking Yoongi to come over. There was a slight sense of panic rising in Hoseok that he didn't understand, nor did he like it. His heart was racing as he looked at Jimin and wished for a change in subject.
Realising that his friend was useless and unable to say anything, Yoongi felt sorry for him and, breaking his rule to not interfere, said, "About earlier. He," Yoongi nodded his head at Hoseok, "Doesn't hate you. Tae was wrong. This guy really doesn't have an issue with whatever gender anyone prefers. You could be into aliens and, though that'd be totally weird, he still wouldn't hate you. And he's sorry you had to see him and Tae argue."Jimin stared at Yoongi with a furrowed brow, and his mouth partly open. "Really?" He said with a tone that said he didn't believe him. "Really." Replied Yoongi seriously, returning Jimin's frown.
After a short pause Jimin looked at Hoseok. He had, since Yoongi had started speaking, an almost horrified expression plastered to his face. Hoseok saw Jimin looking at him and nodded his head rapidly, confirming what Yoongi said, to be true. "Oh..." Said Jimin softly, relief flooding through him at the same time that more questions entered his head. Jimin looked down at the puppy, "Then why..." he began to ask before thinking better of it. Hoseok already looked very uncomfortable, and the main thing was that he didn't hate him.
"Well, now that's cleared up, can we talk about the mutt? Are you looking for it's owner?" Yoongi asked abruptly. Hoseok was thankful for the change of subject and reached over to pet the puppy, accidentally waking him. "Well, actually, i think i saw this guy in a box under the bridge the other day. The box said free to home, and if this is the same puppy i saw back then, i assume he has no owner." Hoseok told Yoongi. Jimin looked down at the playful pup on his lap. It was a strange concept to him that someone could throw away a living creature. "At leave give him away personally or sell him" he muttered more to himself than to anyone in particular. "Bastards." Hoseok agreed and Jimin smiled at him.
"I guess I'll take him then" Yoongi said suddenly. Jimin and Hoseok blinked at him. "I thought you didn't like animals." Hoseok said, narrowing his eyes suspiciously. Yoongi shrugged and took his phone out of his pocket, "Not normally, but he's cute." he replied sounding more aloof than sincere. "Isn't that incredibly irresponsible?" Jimin questioned. Yoongi ignored him and said, "Besides, my bro wants a dog." He called his brother then, and the savage yet witty conversation between them made Hoseok and Jimin laugh heartily. Before hanging up, the brothers decided on a name. Holly.
"Isn't that a girl's name" Jimin giggled. Hoseok's cheeks hurt from smiling too much. He couldn't tell if it was because of Yoongi, or because of Jimin's eye smile when he laughed. Yoongi shrugged at Jimin, saying he didn't care since Holly was the name his brother wanted.

Mrs.Park came home to find her son sitting in the kitchen with 2 other boys, one holding a small dog. She failed at hiding her delight and smiled brightly at the three of them. She, being the excellent mother she was, felt relief swell in her chest at the thought of Jimin having a few friends other than his cousin. She had been worried ever since he had come home last week and told her that a group of guys he'd been hanging around with knew he was gay. She of course accepted her son for who he was, but that didn't mean it was easy. "Are you boys staying for dinner?" She asked hopefully while putting away the groceries she'd come home with.
"Nice to meet you Mrs.Park, I'm Yoongi. Sorry, but i can't stay, I've gotta get Holly home." Yoongi bowed when he introduced himself. He bowed again to mrs Park, nodded to Jimin and slapped Hoseok's arm. "Hobi here is free for dinner however." He said as he left the house, grinning and winking at his friend.
"Oh! You're the prince!" Mrs Park exclaimed in excitement and took Hoseok's hand. "Taehyung told me about you carrying my Chim to the nurse's office. Thank you for taking care of him." She said. Jimin let out an embarraced chocking sound and Hoseok, shocked, blushed crimson. "Ma!" Jimin yelled incredulously and took Hoseok's hand out of her's. Ignoring her son, she studies his face and said, "My, you are handsome. You're staying for dinner yes? Go play while I cook. We're having Italian tonight." She didn't give him a chance to decline the invitation, and started to gather ingredients.
Hoseok looked properly at Jimin for the first time that day. "What do you want to do for an hour?" He asked. Jimin bit his lip. "I have Call Of Duty?" He suggested, and then it was settled. They'd play COD for an hour, eat, then Hoseok would get home and that would be the end of it, Right? Wrong. It had gotten late by the time they'd finished eating, and it had started raining outside, resulting in Mrs Park insisting he stay the night. Furthermore, as if they were in a fanfiction (😜), there was of course, no spare bed in the house yet. Mrs Park, horrified by the thought of a guest sleeping on the floor or couch, also insisted that it was best for the boys to just share Jimin's bed. If she had know about Jimin's feelings for Hoseok, that night would surely have been different.
The rain grew heavier and the temperature dropped dramatically, leaving them all thankful for central heating. Because of this, Hoseok was beginning to feel glad he was staying the night away from his house. He didn't know many people who could afford something like central heating and a 2 story house with 2 bathrooms. Most of his friends and family had to add extra layers to their bodies and beds to keep warm.
Clean, warm and kind of happy, Hoseok snuggled further under the blankets. He breathed heavily, and immediately regretted it. Jimin's scent flooded his nose and surrounded his entire body. He felt that familiar pang of guilt for liking the smell so much. He thought back to when they had first met. The sudden and concerning feeling he'd gotten the second he'd lifted Jimin and carried him in his arms. He remembered feeling happier than he had in a while when they danced together. He remembers the smile on Jimin's face as they'd side by side during the song 'Bang Bang Bang'.
The moment Jimin came out of the bathroom, fresh from the shower, Hoseok realised he'd become an embarrassing state of happy. Was it Jimin's scent that did it? Or was it the image of Jimin's face, hair wet from sweat. He kicked himself mentally for letting his mind run away from him again, and frantically tried to hide his situation, praying to God it disappeared soon.
Checking himself in the mirror before hoping into bed, Jimin slid under the blankets beside Hoseok. He started to feel nervous, so he stared at the ceiling, trying to gather his thought. "Hobi?" He said without looking at him. "Mm?" Hoseok managed to say. "You really aren't bothered by me?" Jimin asked, not completely sure he wanted an answer. Surprised and still concerned about what his body was doing, Hoseok sat up, brought his knees to his chest and looked at Jimin who was watching him. Glad this lights were off, Hoseok licked his lips. "I don't hate you." He said earnestly. Summoning his courage, Jimin asked what he'd been wanting to ask ever since Yoongi had left, "Then why... Why have you been avoiding me? I can tell you're not comfortable around me. Hoseok took a while to answer. "I don't really know. I mean... what i feel towards you isn't... bad." He said finally. Jimin was unsatisfied with Hoseok's answer, and told him so. "I mean it! I don't know... but... maybe..." Hoseok didn't finish his sentence. Curious and more nervous than before, Jimin sat up too and prompted him to continue. Hoseok sighed. "I dont know what it is exactly... but when you dance... and your singing is so... and your smile, your face it's... fuck, i don't know what im saying. It's late, can we just sleep please?" He said, his voice full of irritation.
Jimin's face was flushed from the unfinished compliments. Slowly, he ventured forward with a new question. "Doesn't... Doesn't that mean you like me?"
Hoseok's breath caught in his throat. Truth dawned upon him like and epiphany. Swallowing back the urge to deny everything, Hoseok said with trembling lips, "m-maybe. I don't- I mean, I have no experience with that kind of thing. With L-liking someone." His voice wavered as he spoke, and Jimin could feel himself getting greedier for answers and the hope that came with them. "Have you never had a girlfriend?" He asked, unable to contain all of his excitement from his voice. Hoseok shook his head and said that he did have one once, but i was only for 4 days. He'd only agreed to go out with her because Jungkook had said it was a good idea. Hoseok didn't know that the only reason Jungkook was so eager for him to date someone, was to get him away from Taehyung.
Hoseok had finally gained control over his lower body, so he stretched out his legs. Jimin put a hand on Hoseok's thigh, snapping him out of his revere. They locked eyes and Jimin hesitantly asked, "Do you... Do you want to confirm if you like me or not?" Jimin's heart rate was so quick he was starting to feel lightheaded. He tried to control the urge to attack Hoseok and felt sorry he'd been so bold. "How?" Hoseok asked, his own heart rate sky rocketing. Surprised and even more excited than before, Jimin swallowed and slowly leant forward, reaching a hand up to touch the side of Hoseok's face. Hoseok felt a pang of warmth go through his body, and licked his lips nervously. Losing self-restraint, he grabbed Jimin's shoulders and pulled him into a kiss.
Jimin's lips were soft. Hoseok had felt him stiffen at first, probably due to surprise, but he was now relaxed and seemed to be melting into him. The kiss became stronger and passionate as Hoseok's hands moved down to Jimin's hips and pulled him onto his lap. Jimin's spare hand wrapped around the back of Hoseok's head and lightly gripped his hair.
It was the worst pebble timing for Mrs Park to get a phone call from her husband requesting a chat with his son. Neither Jimin or Hoseok heard her knock on the door. It was the light that poured into the room as it opened which alerted them to her presence, and snapped them back to reality. "Oh... S-Sorry" Mrs Park said flustered, and then quickly shut the door again.
The boys looked at each other, breathing heavily and shocked about both the intensity of their attraction, and of being walked in on. Biting his lip, Jimin breathlessly suggested to Hoseok that he should sleep, got off him and left the room to talk to his mother.
In slight disbelief, Hoseok texted Yoongi, then went to sleep and didn't wake up even when Jimin came back.~~
