"Think carefully... If you reject the faith even this once the gates to paradise will forever be out of your reach..." a deep, sinister voice echoed.
White feathers fell gently and in the distance was a shadow of what seemed to be a bird perched on a staff.
"Do you think... one who was among the faithful... would ever go so far as to summon someone like you" Ciel said as he floated gently, his peircing cerulean eye etching the image of the bird into his mind. A red blanket covered his and the girl next to him. Amelia's dark, emerald eyes were also fixed on the bird. The voice chuckled.
"I'll ask but once more", it cooed, " Do you wish to form a contract with me?"
"We do!" Amelia said, raising her frustrated voice.
"Now stop asking these tedious questions and let us know if we have a deal!" Ciel added.
The Phantomhive gardens were pristine as ever, despite the forboding nostalgic aura. The fountain rippled quietly, the leaves gently rustled and morning birds sang their distinct melodies. Up on the second floor in the Phantomhive manor, a raven-like butler pulled the curtains open
"Young master, young mistress, it is time to wake up" he spoke fluently, with a prominent british accent.
Two small bodies lay underneath the blanket. The male one was first to rise. Ciel Phantomhive yawned and stretched his arms above his head, glancing over at the butler, Sebastian.
"For today's breakfast we have lightly poached salmon accompanied by a delicate mint salad. I can also offer you scones or pande companye. Which dish would you care for this morning?" Sebastian asked as he poured his master tea. Ciel shot him a bored look.
"A scone. Amelia would prefer that too, we both have a sweet tooth" he said. Once Sebastian had dressed him, Ciel leaned back onto the bed and gently brushed Amelia's long, brown hair from her cheek. She stirred and her eyes fluttered open. She sat up, yawned, smoothed out her nightdress and rubbed her eye.
"Good morning Ciel, Sebastian" she mumbled.
"Milady" Sebatian bowed as she handed her and Ciel a beautiful tea cups of tea. Ciel went to sip it bt stopped.
"I know this smell. Is this tea Earl Grey?" he asked.
"Yes. From the Jacksons at Picadilly" Sebastian answered.
Once Sebastian had dressed both of his masters, he stood and brushed Amelia's hair while Ciel finished his tea.
"Today you both have a meeting with Mr Hughes, the authority on the history of the Roman Empire. And this evening Mr Damiano of the Basaiyans Company will be paying you a visit" Sebastian said as he gently pulled the brush through Amelia's tangled nimbus of hair, smirking at the fact that Ciel watched his every move with a warning look in his beautiful blue eyes as he tied his signature eyepatch.
"Oh. Is that the man the man we have in charge of stuffed animals at our factory in India?" Amelia inquired.
"Yes," Sebastian replied, "I'm told he's Italian. We will of course offer him every bit of hospitality this estate can provide" he said, placing the brush on the vanity table. Amelia sat next to Ciel on the edge of the bed, taking care not to crease her royal blue dress. Ciel put a hand over her's and squeezed it, relaxing when she squeezed back.
"I shall wait for you at the dining table, young master, dear mistress" he bowed, turning to make his way to the door. Ciel's uncovered eye flew open. He snatched a dart from the nightstand and threw it at Sebastian. He simply raised his hand and caught it between his middle and index fingers. He turned, his raven black hair excentuating his crimson eyes.
"Well thrown my lord, but let's save the games for later" he smiled.
"Yes... I suppose you're right, Sebastian".
Ciel sat at the dining table across from Amelia. His three servants stood to the left of the table. There was Bardroy, or Bard, who was the cook. He was tall with dirty-blonde hair and blue eyes. Though he was the cook, he charred everything with flamethrowers and dynamite, so almost every meal that was served was prepared by Sebastian. Then there was Mey-Rin, the maid. She had pinkish purple hair put up into scraggly pigtails. She was extremely cluymsy and could'nt see properly through were wide, circular framed glasses. And last but not least, there was Finnian, more frequently referred to as Finni, who was the gardener. Though he appears short and scrawny he actually has super strength, with strawberry blonde hair and green eyes like Amelia. Ciel threw a nother dart at an unsuspecting Finni. Blood gushed from the back of his head.
"Ow ow ow ow ow ow! What was that for, master?" he squealed, prancing up to Ciel in his chair. Amelia cast him an uninterested look". Ciel took a mouthful of salmon.
" Nothing, I don't need to justify my actions" he scoffed. Finni pulled a hurt and confused look as Amelia nodded in agreement. Suddenly the doors burt open. Sebastian burst through.
"There you three are!" he bellowed. Amelia almost choked on her salmon. Ciel didn't even look up.
