Cassie's POV
It's a Saturday, I woke up with my phone ringing. I reached for my phone, and without looking at the caller ID, I answered.
"Morning Jethro."
"Thank God he did not spend the night there." Blake said on the other line, feeling relieved. "I wasn't thinking right when I let him take you home."
"Of course he didn't sleep here Blake. What do you think of me?"
"I know you're not that kind of girl, but its Jethro... you know his record when it comes to girls, and besides you've been crushing on him ever since you've met him."
"Well, now that you know he is not here, can I sleep again? I'm still sleepy." I looked at the clock on my bedside table. "It's only 8 in the morning."
"Ok, but I'll pick you up for lunch at 12."
"Yeah sure." I put the call to end and went back to sleep.
I woke up again with the sound of my phone ringing. I looked at my phone and saw Blake’s name.
“Hello.”
“I know you did not set your alarm that’s why I’m calling you again. I’ll be there at 12.”
“Okay. See you.”
When I put the call to end, I've noticed I have a text message from Aubrey.
Aubrey: Hi girl! OTW to Baguio. I’m fine. Take good care of Blake for me, okay? Luv yah!
After I replied, “Yeah sure. Take care. Luv u too.” to Aubrey, I decided to text Jethro.
Me: Morning. Blake and I will be having lunch today. Do you want to come?
Jethro: I can’t. Got some stuff to do.
Me: We’ll be at the mall ‘til late afternoon, just text me if you decided to drop by.
While waiting for his reply, I head to the bathroom to shower. When I was done, I checked my phone if Jethro replied but I didn’t have any message. I’ve decided to wear a yellow summer dress and wedge for my feet. I also put on a light make-up, and sprayed a little Elizabeth Arden Green Tea perfume.
Five minutes before 12, my doorbell rang. I opened the door to meet Blake.
“You’re really taking this Operation: Date Jethro seriously huh?”
“What are you talking about?”
“The dress? The make-up? And since when did you learn how to wear shoes with heels? I didn’t even know you own this kind of stuff.”
“Well because you are not my bestfriend, Aubrey is. And besides, I feel good wearing these. Why? Is it that bad on me?”
“No. Of course not. In fact, you looked… nice.”
“Nice?! It’s that the only adjective you could give me?” I raised an eyebrow to him.
“What? At least, I didn’t say, cute.”
“You better not. Anyway, let’s go.” I locked the door and headed to the parking lot. Blake opened the door using his alarm and I got into the car. Blake got into the car and said, “Hey, why didn’t you let me open the door for you? You’re a “girl” now, right?”
“Blake, I am a girl since the day I was born. You should have realized that the day you’ve met me. And what’s with all this teasing? If you don’t stop, I swear, I’ll punch you in the face.”
