The idea of London in winter had always excited me, long days with nothing but the sound of pitter pattering of the rain as in clings to your window... as well as the thought of meeting 'the one' and kissing him passionately in the rain after only spending the day with him exploring the marvellous city... The idea was cliché, and unrealistic but still.

Although it obviously rained in Australia, the rain was not...magical, like it was here in London.

I feel like I want to say that I've been waiting for this day to come for years, because I have, but then I'd be ignoring the fact that the only reason we are in London in the first place is because of my Grandparents crumbling health.

As my parents picked up our new car, which by the way, my dad bought 3 months ago, (he was very excited). I looked around the crowded airport. I like to notice people's facial expressions before anything else, the way that one person can be having the best day of their life, while someone else could be barely holding on to there's. this kind of stuff fascinates me.

"You ready champ?" my dad says to me, grinning at the fact he is holding the keys to his new Mercedes.

"David, that grin worries me, your going to be careful driving right? The roads are hectic and don't forget, filled with ice!" she says, emphasizing the last 3 words, as it was clearly obvious the roads would be icy, as it was probably only 1 or 2 degrees outside.

"I'm excited for my life here" I say, looking over to my mother.

"Your grandparents are dying Tessa, you shouldn't be worrying about yourself you will be fine!" My mother snaps, she is a very controlling and more often than not, rude. She obviously was very distressed at the fact my grandparents aren't well. I didn't bother talking back as I usually would, she seemed upset enough.

(thanks for reading this far! it will get better but this is literally my first time writing a fanfiction and i have some super duper ideas :)
