Emily's P.O.V~ Age 11
Butterflies rose in my stomach as I looked over my things one last time. I was really going to do it. I was really going to Hogwarts!
I had been waiting for this moment my whole life. Mum used to tell me all about her times at Hogwarts every time I went to bed. We don't really do that much anymore.
"Are you ready?" Father asked me as he knocked on the door of my bedroom. My new bedroom.
We had just recently moved to this mansion that was way too big for my liking. I didn't understand why we were moving when Mum told me the first time, but then I heard her and Father talking about the neighbors being inferior to us. They called them unwelcomed blood. And now we have no neighbors, muggle or not.
I got up and took the cage that held my 'Toad'. I'll tell you now that he was not a toad at all, but a pet that was not allowed in Hogwarts disguised as a toad. I'll assume that you've never heard of a Knarl.
Knarls very closely resemble hedgehogs and are virtually indistinguishable besides the fact that Knarls will not except food offered to them. They find that very offensive and will take to destroying gardens. That's why I have to be careful when feeding Quilliam Spikerson or he'll mess up his whole crate.
Quilliam was a gift. To celebrate my acceptance letter from Dumbledore, Aberforth wanted to make sure that I had plenty of company. Hagrid helped him pick out something since Hagrid knows plenty about animals. Mum and Father were not as pleased as I was upon arrival of Quilliam.
When I opened the door, my father gave me a stern look.
"Now, Emily, I realize that you're excited about going to Hogwart, but that does not give you any excuse to act unladylike in any manner. Do you understand?"
"Yes, sir" I nodded
"Alright, lets go"
My mum and father wasted no time getting to platform 9 3/4. They glared at some people as we passed by. I wonder if they knew them.
There was a bit of a line at the column of 9 and 10. My mum saw a woman standing close by about her age and started chatting. I think I recognized her, and mum seemed to be friends with her. She had two boys with her.
One boy was a couple years younger than me and held tightly to his mother's hand. The other boy, however, seemed as though he didn't want to even be assosiated with his mother. I waved slightly at him to catch his eye, seeing as we may end up class mates.
He waved back smally with an uncomfortable look. He seemed confused by me and my gestures so I nodded slighty to our mums. He nodded in understanding.
'What's your name?' he mouthed sighlently. I was about to mouth back my name when...
"Emily Southway!" My mum screached at me. "Does it look as though the line is getting any shorter? It's your turn!"
I gulped and looked at the column, gripping my cart. I looked back at my parents, hoping for a hug or a 'good luck, sweety'.
"Just go, Emily" My father crossed his arms. I turned back and ran forward, my eyes itching. A cold front hit and was then gone in an instance.
I wanted to wait for the boy I had met, but there was an old man holding a cat who was herding kids onto the train. I didn't want to miss it, so I got on and looked for a cabin. Once, I had found an empty one, I sat down with Quilliam on my lap.
It wasn't but a few minutes before there was a knock on my door. I turned to see the long haired boy again.
"Do you mind if I sit here for a while? I'm waiting on someone"
