~Evelyn~Packing up my things I decided that I can no longer stay here, the Hunters have been getting closer to my cottage and it's starting to make me restless. I can no longer able to read my book that I am currently interested in, its about how to get over the guilt of killing someone. In a way it's helping me, and I think this is healthy as I know i'll be killing a lot more people. Skin Walkers were still people, they may not be fully their but they definitely understood everything around them. I've also been reading this other book about the human brain, on my last run to the supermarket I went past the library and a certain book caught my interest, I just had to have it. Did you know that humans can only access 10-40 percent of their brain? Crazy right! I mean our brain is so big and we can only access 10 percent of it. Apparently it's a myth, an urban legend. 10 percent is only enough for us to have memories, feelings, to create brain cells to hold and gather information, half of the time we cant remember thats because apart of our brain has been fogged up so theres certain areas that we cannot access. Im not sure if this is right or not, but so far I believe that this is true, I watched a movie called "Lucy," and she was able to access 100 percent of her brain capacity over a period of time. In the end she couldn't handle it a died. I started asking questions, questions that I was afraid to answer. Lucky was stronger, faster, and was smarter than the average human. What IF Skin Walkers could access more of their brain, like it doesn't have to be 100 percent if they could even access 65 percent of their brain capacity that would be enough to do extraordinary things. Extraordinary but dangerous things, your fear starts to fade making you Un afraid of things around you, you could jump off a 200 hundred feet cliff and have not a trace of fear in you, you could walk into a burning house with no terror of being burnt alive. You start to reduce your emotions, we are no longer blinded by the effects of other peoples emotions or of our owns. We are able to control and deal with our emotions a lot better and are now free from the ups and downs of the emotional state responding to the world around us. This makes the Skin Walks emotionless, not able to feel empathy or fear, they are the ultimate killing machine.
Here I was walking along the dark broken up road, ashes descend to the ground as if they were snow flakes gracefully dancing to meet the cold hard surface. Ashes from the burning buildings that seemed to never end, ashes from what was left behind, the old city that was burnt down to nothing. Walking down the middle of the road as my eyes set firmly on my destination up ahead. The Hospital. Its was obviously abounded, well mostly. There was the odd sane person living there, hidden away from not only the Skin Walkers but also The Hunters. I had to be careful as some of the floors are unstable and could collapse at anytime, I knew that this trip was dangerous but I need the things from inside if I was to leave this city behind. Reaching the doors of the Hospital I see that they are thrown to the side as if they were rubbish, I guess you could say they were rubbish. I stepped over the rabbled that laid scatted at the entrance of the hospital, slowly and carefully I took tiny steps towards the medical room. Taking a few twists and turns as I follow the signs that were leading me to where I wanted to go. I passed by a few rooms that looked like they were being currently used, and a few rooms that were nothing bad a dead zone, the beds tipped over, sheets sprawled on the ground or over other furniture in the room, its as if a tornado had ripped through the rooms, leaving a messy trail in their wake.
As I rounded yet another corner that lead me to yet another corridor, I was surprised to see a few people talking quietly amongst themselves, I decided to keep my head down and continue on my quest, I was here to refill my medical supplies not to socialise. as I passed by the group of people a hand reached out and gripped my arm firmly.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" The voice was firm but not harsh, I looked up and was met with green eyes, I stumbled trying to find the right words.
