They were now driving to a nearby branch of Alden's restaurant because they were both hungry and the previous place they were at could no longer provide them food. At the car, Maine continued to pester him.

"Ano na nga? It's your turn. You must've had some 'what ifs'?"

He continued to drive in silence for awhile.

Maine added. "Example, Candy Fair, what if nameet ko si Daniel? Wala tayong picture. Do you think sisikat pa din tayo as a team?"

"Yeah, medyo mababawasan lang siguro yung element of 'destiny' pero yes."

"Have you ever wondered what if we got together there?"

Alden laughed. "Gusto mo ba talagang sagutin ko yan?"

"You've thought about it?" 

"Yes."

"And?"

"Maine, I was young and really lost that time. If we had gotten together then, I might have tried to sleep with you and then left you."

She looked at him incredulous. "I was only 15, you jerk!"

"I was 18 with raging hormones."

She laughed. "Goodness. Oh, so ano nga? Anong scenario mo?"

He thought for a bit. "Naisip ko siguro before, what if successful ako sa audition ko sa Big Brother and naging contract star ako nung kabilang channel?"

"Hmmm makakawork mo yung crush na crush mo! Si Li-"

"Sure ka?"

"What if nga eh. Okay so kunyari kayo yung love team."

"Pack up!"

They just finished their final taping day for their soap. As usual, they went on their separate ways. Though he and his partner were close friends, they played it up to be more romantic on social media - posting photographs the other one took, ensuring captions were vague enough for their followers to speculate that there was something more, but that same ambiguity will be their escape if things don't pan out.

She was very beautiful and he had caught himself a number of times wanting to make things official, but there was just something he was waiting for, so for now, they were good friends.

"Den," she called. "We're invited daw to the awards night next Saturday."

"Yes, nakabook na din sa'kin. I'm sure you'll look amazing again, kaya gustong-gusto ko din pag invited tayo sa formal events."

"Ang bolero. O sige, I'll see you then. Management will just let us know where we'll meet and then arrive at the event together."

He nodded and then went on his way home.

As he settled in for the night, he checked his social media accounts. Maine Mendoza had uploaded another dubsmash video and he couldn't help but laugh out loud. It really was so unusual for someone this pretty to try and make herself look ugly in front of the cameras. He heard that she had joined the rival station's long running noontime show, Eat Bulaga, and was making waves with her rapport with Wally Bayola. 

They had been trending for a number of weeks now because of her and their station was starting to take notice. There were even talks of bringing her to their station but this girl seems to be very difficult to get to.
