"Teka, bakit ba selos na selos ka dun?"

"Ops! Sabi ko wag ka magagalit, di ba? Tsaka 'what if' ko 'to eh, wala kang pake," he replied, while he handed her a plate of appetizers she can munch on.

"Okay, before I answer that, gusto ko lang din kasi maintindihan why. I never really understood your jealousy over him."

Alden sighed and shrugged. "Hmm paano ko ba e-explain 'to. Maybe because he was part of a time in your life na alam kong sobrang saya mo and kahit anong gawin ko, I could never replace that. Kahit anong happy memory natin, I feel like it will never measure up to that time na simple lang lahat and happy ka."

Maine stared at him. He never told her this before and it was a revelation. She thought that his jealousy of Miggy was just because he used to be the one she loved and that would never sit well with him.

"So, what if you were with him when we met again in Bulaga?"

Maine was headed to the coffee shop where she frequently met up with Miggy. They had become official only a few weeks ago, much to her parents' dismay. He was kind and was good to their daughter, however, they had some reservations about him.

"Hi, Babe. Kamusta na ang girlfriend kong artista na?" He teased.

Maine smiled. Since they got together, she had been having doubts. Truth be told, she agreed to be official because they had been acting like a couple and people assumed they were together anyway. She went to meet him that day, decided on ending things, but he asked her to give them a chance.

He was a safe choice because he was right, they were good friends and they used to be so good together. That vanished. But, maybe, maybe with a little effort, they can get it back. Maybe it was time for her to stop running from her problems.

It was not a good reason. She wasn't justifying it. But, here they are now.

"Okay naman. Masaya yung episode kanina," she replied.

"Nakita ko nga. Alden pala ha?"

"Yes, si Alden. Nagulat ako na pinaupo siya dun para manuod kanina."

"Crush mo pa naman yun."

She only smiled.

"Babe, tuloy na pala alis ko next month for Florida. One year din yung contract ko."

"That's good." She replied, but she was wondering why she didn't feel more broken about it. "Miggy, can we go back to being friends nalang? I mean, kung magiging long-distance din, baka it''s better to reassess this and just decide next year, when you get back?"

"No, kaya natin 'to. Mabilis lang yung one year."

Maine lay awake in bed that night. Miggy had texted asking if she was home and she only replied that she was and she was going to rest. But here she was, still awake. Reviewing the events of the past weeks.

Miggy left and AlDub soared.

She had tried to break it off a number of times but felt like it was unfair to do so via emails or text, but she didn't have plans of going to the US soon so she was stuck.

But after the abduction episode and the mansion date, she was sure, whatever she was looking for was something she won't find with the person she was currently with.
