Ch. 1 The new boy

16 year old Emma Johnson has no idea what she is about to experience.
"Emma? What is the answer to number four?" asked her best friend Lily. "Um I got 85." She replied.
"So... did I." She said back. Emma nodded.
Emma stood up, "hey do you know that there is a new boy in school!" she piped. "No! Really? What's his name?" Lily asked. "Austin. He is so charming and funny! But I doubt that he'll ever talk to me." Emma's voice dropped.
"I know right.'' Lily sighed. Emma closed her book. "I'm bored." she complained. Lily nodded. "Me too." she said.
"Hey do you want to see if Austin has a Facebook?" Lily asked. "Sure!" exclaimed Emma.
Obviously she was getting excited.
Lily took out her phone and entered in her account name.
"Ok let's see here, Austin Bankson." She typed in. "There!" Emma yelled, right into Lily's ear.
Lily tapped on his page and she lost her excitement, just like Emma, when they saw his profile.
'Taken by the most beautiful girl in the whole world!! Alyson!!'
"Ahh!" Emma screamed. She bit her tongue to hide her tears. Lily started to tear up.
"Of course! Just my luck! I thought I had a chance with him and of course he has a girlfriend!" Lily cried. Emma just couldn't hold back. "I know!" she cried too. Lily and Emma gave each other a hug when Emma's brother came in.
"Will you girls please be quiet!" he yelled. Emma walked up to him and slapped him. "Shut up! We're having boy problems!" She screamed.

After Lily left Emma went down to the basement where she cuddled up on the couch next to her dog Alfie. Alfie was a French poodle with marshmallow white fur.
Emma took out her book and started reading until....
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Emma sat up and listened real closely to any sudden soft noises.
Emma didn't care anymore about listening to the noises, she just cared that her family was ok.
She rushed upstairs just to find that the cat had knocked over the flower pots.
Emma, who was relieved, walked back downstairs and started reading her book again.
As soon as she is way deep into it Dylan comes down and throws a book at her.
"You're so stupid!" he yelled at her.
"You're... stupidor! she yelled back.
He stuck out her tongue. Emma ignored him and got back to reading.
As soon as Emma started getting way, way, way deep into the book Dylan, who is still on the steps yelled, "Emma! I know that you have my joint buzzer!" he yelled. "What I do not!"
Suddenly, all of that got way worse. Emma and Dylan broke out into a beat down where Dylan started pulling Emma's hair and Emma jumped on his back and started hitting him.
Then their mother came down. "Emma, Dylan! What is all of the commotion down here!" she exclaimed. "Emma took my joint buzzer!" Dylan said. "No I didn't!" she said back.
"Ok, you two need to work it out. you both woke up your baby sister Molly!" she yelled. "Sorry mom. we won't do it again. I'll just kill Emma in silence." Mom sighed. "No! nobody will be killing anyone... Emma go and read in your room and Dylan please go empty and reload the dishwasher." said her mom.
Dylan moaned. Emma ran upstairs with her phone in one hand and her book in the other.
On the way upstairs she got a text from Lily. It said 'keep your phone close to you tonight. You're going to be expecting a very important phone call.'
Emma was confused. Since Emma only moved here three months ago she really only knew Lily and two girls down the street, Masky and Lola. Twin sisters.
On the way upstairs her phone rang. She looked at it.
OMG! It was Austin!
"Hello!" she beamed. Trying to hide her excitement inside her. "Hey Emma it's Austin. You know from English class." He said. "Ya I remember you." she said back. "Anyway, I was wondering if you no maybe you would..." Emma cut him off. "I would love too." she said. "Great! I think. How about we go to the Lakers basketball game on Saturday?" he asked. "Sure! sounds great!" she exclaimed. "Ok I'll see you tomorrow." he said. "Bye"
As soon as Emma hung up she ran up to her mom. "Be chill, I have a date on Saturday!" she said. "I'm always chill sweetie." Emma ran away. 'If he hurts my little girl, I'm going to twist him into a pretzel, oh, a pretzel would be nice right now.' she thought.
