[Sala X Fem!Reader]

(I know I said skater boys in the description, but I had this idea, and couldn't let it go;))

Y/N and Sala had been friends since the junior division. Y/N had watched her grow from a young girl into a young woman, as Sala had for her.

Their bond was only comparable to her and Mickey.

It was the night before the women's Grand Prix final, and Y/N was alone. Her coach was dozing in a bed due to jet lag. She, however were prevented from entering the safe haven of sleep by anxiety.

It was normal for Y/N to feel nervous before a competition. Usually, she would've thrown up by now. But it never happened. Nothing normal happened.

Only a sinking feeling of dread evolving in the pit of her stomach.

"Hey Sal. Wanna get coffee? I can't sleep." Y/N's nimble fingers quickly hit 'send.'

The reply was nearly instantaneous, "Meet me in room 746, okay? See ya ☺️"

Y/N slid into comfortable clothes, and hurried through the hallways. She knocked on said room. The door opened, revealing...

"Oh hi, Mickey. I'm here to pick up Sala," Y/N stated blandly. He was never a great friend like his sister, but at least he was polite.

He gave her a short smile, and beckoned her inside. Sala was braiding her hair in the mirror, but, on seeing Y/N she let her glossy, black hair tumble out of its confinement.

"Y/N!" She shrieked, launching herself at her friend.

"I've missed you so much!" She mumbled into Y/N's neck. Y/N hugged back, "I've missed you too, Sal!"

The two girls finally left the suite, and strolled down the streets of Barcelona. "So, how have you been?" Sala asked.

"Tired," Y/N smiled, "But I'm really excited! I've trained really hard, and I'm hoping I can bring home the gold, for [country],"

"That's really cool! I haven't seen you all season, but I'll have you know, I'm not going down without a fight either," she grinned.

They roamed the streets, purchasing little trinkets for their friends and family. At last, they came to a pause under a lovely tree.

"How's Mickey treating you?" Y/N asked, sipping her drink.

Sala sighed, "Same as always. He won't let me date, and is always trying to protect me, even though I'm the older twin,"

Y/N chuckled, "That's Mickey for you. I feel sorry for whichever girl decides to date him,"

Sala gave a lighthearted smile. Then she glanced around, and dropped her tone, "Can I tell you something?"

Y/N blinked in mild confusion, "What?"

"Well, there's someone I like. A lot. And I've started seeing them regularly, and they're really sweet. We text nearly all the time, and I think they like me too." She covered her flaming cheeks, and slid down in the bench. "I really hope they like me," she whispered.

Y/N felt a pang of jealousy. There could be no man who would ever deserve her. They would al break her heart sooner or later. "I really hope they do too," She stated gruffly.

The next day, Y/N and Sala were tied after the short program. Just outside the kiss and cry, Sala said, "Y/N! Let's make a bet! If I win, I'll tell you who I like,"

Y/N grinned, "Okay! And if I win, I get to give you a present,"

Y/N won, by a very small margin. Before they went to receive their medals, Y/N smirked, "Sala! You ready for your present?"

Sala smiled, "Of course!"

Y/N approached her, and covered her eyes. She planted a very short, sweet kiss on her friend's lips. She uncovered Sala's eyes, and looked down, red in the face.

"I-I'm sorry. I know our friendship is probably now over. B-but I had to! From the first instance we met, I've had a crush on you. But, boys were always after you, so why'd you even consider dating me? A girl!? I was so stupid-" Y/N said, words falling from her lips, like rushing water.

Sala, however smiled, and wrapped her arms around Y/N's neck, "I've like you too. I never thought I'd actually fall for a girl. But I did. That's actually what I wanted to tell you. The 'person' I had med was you!" She leaned in for another kiss. It was slightly longer, but when they broke, both girls craved more.

"I-I thought you weren't allowed to date though?" Y/N stuttered in disbelief.

Sala flashed a coy grin, "Technically, I'm not allowed to date boys,"
