"Castle." Kate Beckett tried to calm her husband. "Just let me finish my paperwork and me and Lily will be on our way home." She looked down at the cheeky girl beside her. "Can I talk to daddy?" The three year old asked. "Hold on Rick, your daughter wants to talk to you." Lily cheered as her mother handed her the phone. "Hi daddy!" The girl greeted. Her conversation continued as she walked away from Kate.
"Did you wrap it?" She whispered into the phone.
"Yes I wrapped it. Are you sure Mommy is gonna love it?" Castle questioned his three year old.
"I'm one hundred percent sure." She assured her father. "Bye daddy. See you in like 20 minutes." Lily hung up and left the break room, giving the phone back to her sad looking mother. "Mommy what's wrong?" Kate checked her phone before answering.
"The roads are closed." Lily didn't know what that meant and Beckett could tell. "We're stuck at the precinct." She sat down, running a hand through her hair. Lily sat on her mother's lap, cuddling close.
"It's okay mommy we'll be able to get home. Just tell daddy we are gonna be a little late." She smiled at Kate, trying to make her feel better. In response she kissed Lily's head. "I hope so." She smiled at the little girl. Kate was shocked Lily wasn't worried about Santa but instead tried to make her feel better. "Espo! Ryan!" She called out. "Captain?" They asked in unison. "I have some bad news." She turned to her daughter who decided she would tell her uncles. "The roads are closed. You two are stuck here with me." Lily tried to sound as upbeat as possible. "I'll call Lanie." Javi answered as he left to call his current girlfriend. "I'll go call Jenny." Kevin disappointedly left the office. "Wait." Lily randomly shouted. Kate thought her daughter had finally figured out that something might happen to her presents. "If the roads are closed that means it's snowing right?" She jumped up, running to a window. "Mommy it's snowing!" She screamed excitedly. The whole precinct turned to look at the three year old. "When we get we can go out and play. For now we have to find a way home." Kate dialed Rick back who sadly picked up.

"Let me guess, you're not gonna make it home? Alexis and mother are stuck too." Rick was devastated that he would be spending Christmas Eve and possibly Christmas alone. "Rick, I'm sorry." Kate apologized. "It's not your fault. At least this time you didn't volunteer to work." He let out a slight laugh. "I'll just put on Christmas movies and songs and wait for you." He hung up and looked around his loft. Rick decided to spend his spare time decorating as he attempted to surprise his wife, mother, and daughters.

"Mommy, I know what we can do." Lily smiled, rejoining her mother in her office. Kate waited for her daughter to continue. "We can decorate the precinct." She had the same idea as her father, which would of scared Beckett if she knew. "How do you suggest we do that?" She raised in eyebrow at the excited three year old. "I think there are lights in storage and we could make snowflakes and hang them around. We could play Christmas music!" With each idea, Lily became more excited.
